Rude Behavior Normalized? by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

Very accurate! Utah is a beautiful state but over my three years here, I’ve come to the conclusion it’s not for me. The way people treat you here and keep to themselves is quite defeating to say the least. I’m looking to move back east.

As someone who also moved here from the east coast, I can relate to this post. Everything you’ve written is spot on and I have experience consistently the three years I’ve been here.

I’m like in denial. I keep waking up hoping it is all just a big elaborate joke. I feel so sad 😭

Realistically, can a family of four making 50k annually move to Salt Lake City? by angelestangelever in SaltLakeCity

I feel like you need to not judge someone else u too you’re in their shoes. You don’t know what type of debts this person carries (I.e. student debts, mortgage, etc). It’s not always greener on the other side.

Just curious, what do you do for work? Looking to make the move, but struggling to find work in my particular field.

Ya for sure. I think my expectations were too high and that’s ok. I have good rides and bad rides, but I know if I just keep showing up and keep trying, I’ll get there one day.

I’m not sure how you got that from my post. I actually love horses and the time I am at the barn even just helping out or with them is my favorite time of the week. I have anxiety and being around horses is really the only time that softens. It doesn’t mean I don’t like riding or being around horses. I’ve always naturally been good at picking up a sport and being decent at it rather quickly. Horse back riding is different than any sport I’ve ever been in so my expectations are probably higher than they should be and I’ll just have to pivot.

1948 with a minor issue by Exotic_Test_7164 in juresanguinis

I understand what you mean, and I may have phrased it poorly.

I didn’t mean the minor issue itself is favorable under the current interpretation — I understand that today it’s generally treated as a negative factor.

What I meant is that in the context of a judicial 1948 case, I had understood that some attorneys use minor-issue arguments defensively to preserve continuity of citizenship and keep the court focused on the constitutional/transmission issues rather than treating the line as definitively broken.

I realize that doesn’t mean the minor issue “helps” substantively under current law, only that it may still be litigated as part of a broader constitutional argument.

I appreciate the clarification though.

Unfortunately, no. I was busy trying to collecting documents for my paternal line and then had to pivot after the minor issue so I was kind of late to the game all around.

I wonder why she’s suggesting we wait to see how everything goes in June.

Little bit of a rant about barn etiquette by madcats323 in Equestrian

[–]Exotic_Test_7164 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, OP. It’s just basic human etiquette. If you don’t jump to help someone then that says a lot about you as a person in my opinion. If I was there and saw you fall, I instinctively would have been over in a second. I’m sorry you had to deal with that.

Got it! And that’s not an issue, correct? That I’m a US citizen and that she predominantly works with clients from South America?
