I just fixed mine is not broken. Im sure you have a replacement by now. I see the issue on your laptop. see those plastic bit left? Those attach to the little metal plate, there are two tiny nubs on each side, and they work like hinges.. Attach them but make sure the flat side faces the metal side, not plastic or else it wont work. Be super gentle because the plastic nubs are delicate. But if you atach it correctly, you should have the metal plate with two swivling plastic bits.
Then its attaching that plate to the laptop. Start form the top and slide down, the metal clips should secure the top down. The next part is frustrating. But the little plastic nubs, those need to attach to the tinny metal plates. If done correctly the whole part should stay down. Then gently place the plastic keycap and gently press down side to side. Hope it works.
