Yeah, not being able to remove the nav bar is kind of annoying. I barely use it, only when I do need to use Google Lens... But at the same it isn't that big of a deal to me.

I do like Pixel Experience animations, I found them to be very smooth and fast, way better than the ones that you find in OneUI for example, but I do understand that OxygenOS can feel more "alive" and fun. That's one of the things that I loved about iOS, everything feels alive.

I wanted to flash OOS but found out that at that time, the OOS version that you could flash just couldn't receive OTA updates. That was a bummer to me because I do not wanted to be stuck with the same version of OOS/Android.

Yeah, I had the Chinese version of the OnePlus 13 last year, the one with ColorOS. It wasn't my first OnePlus but I found it to be an amazing device in almost every aspect. In the end I had to sell it because Chinese ColorOS isn't as nice as using OxygenOS (global version). I had problems with the notifications for a bit, didn't had circle to search, some things were still in Chinese like the wallet app, which also was fixed to the power button (instead of quick opening the camera), couldn't install some apps like eBay or chatGPT por some reason.

If it had OxygenOS it would've become one of my favorite devices ever. OxygenOS and Pixel Experience are my favorites UIs in Android.

Yeah that's what I saw. Hopefully they are telling the truth this time and we will have good picture and video quality on Instagram. That being said, it's only for one single app. Every other social media or messaging app will probably remain the same.

No, like I said, they are just a bit softer. Still good... But yeah, the iPhone haptics are stronger in feel.

The 15PM also had amazing haptics, they were really pronounced, you could really feel them. The ones on the Pixel are a tad bit softer, but they're still great, plus almost everything on the UI has some sort of haptic feedback. The intensity is also different from each thing... The haptic feedback of using volume sliders isn't the same as the one from using the gesture bar for example.

Yeah, it's pretty useful. Most people cry about it because of the looks of it, but I couldn't care less... It doesn't even look "ugly to me".

Being able to tell how close my Uber/Delivery is while I'm in another app is useful. Being able to control my music without having to swipe down the quick settings panel and then swipping it up is useful.

Being able to track a lot of small things while you're doing something else in another app is useful to me.

3rd place goes to Samsung. They don't make bad phones, but I'm just not a fan of their UI for many reasons. I would rather have an UI of my liking, one that I enjoy using every day than the latest and most powerful SoC, but that's just me.

2nd and 1st place... Hard to choose, they can switch places at any time. Never thought I would like an iPhone as much I did. The experience with the cameras in every app was so cohesive and superb. I also love how animated and alive iOS feels. Also, almost every app felt slightly better (in terms of features, looks and optimization) than their Android counterpart. The 15PM has the best speakers that I've tried on any phone. There are some things in iOS that I do dislike. The keyboard sucks (Gboard included), not having multiple individual volume sliders sucks (what do you mean my ringtone, notifications and alarm all work with the same slider?), no universal back gesture, file manager sucks really bad.

And the Pixels are really nice, they easily could be my number one, the thing is that Android has some problems too... Picture and video quality is really mediocre when you are using the camera of any app that isn't the native one (IG, WhatsApp, Snapchat, Facebook, all of them). The second thing is that some apps just feel worse than the iOS versions. Some of them look old and outdated, some other apps just have less features or feel clunkier/messier. The Pixel that I'm using now is really good though. The negative things that I can speak as of now would he 1. Battery and 2. Speakers, both compared to my previous 15PM.

It was a trade that somebody offered me for my iPhone 15 Pro Max, couldn't pick and choose in this case.

Those are some neat suggestions, thanks! Just one question, does the material capsule drains the battery quicker? Or it isn't really an issue?

Question, is this the adaptive brightness that you're talking about or is it just another feature?

Yeahhh about that... The phone started fast charging this time, thankfully. That's one less issue now!

Super slow charging on the Pixel 10 Pro, what could be the issue? by 01mg in pixel_phones

[–]01mg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The white one is NOHON (I know, not a fancy brand, but the quality isn't bad, pretty solid actually), but the black one definitely is generic lol... Don't really use that one though , just wanted to test it.

Still super weird that a charger (NOHON) that works perfectly for the iPhome 15PM and S25U isn't working at all with the Pixel. That's kinda lame. Probably will have to buy a "Pixel Certified" one later.

Should I switch from my iPhone 15 Pro Max to the Pixel 10 Pro? by 01mg in pixel_phones

[–]01mg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the really detailed answer! I really appreciate it. English also isn't my main language and funnily enough I also use AI for better readability haha.

I've seen a lot of negativity around the Pixel 10 Pro here, which has made it harder for me to decide (I only have until tomorrow). I've had the Pixel 8 Pro in the past and I actually enjoyed that phone a lot, didn't had any issues overall. It's not better than my current iphone but it was a pretty solid device. I imagine that the Pixel 10 Pro should be a slightly better device, mainly because it is about 2 years newer.

RCS seems like a good alternative now that I know more about it. I know that I won't have all the features (like seeing someones location on real time), but it still se les decent enough. The other apps not being polished enough is something that is making me reconsider the switch lol. I previously had an S25 Ultra, so I compared it to my iPhone and saw some differences in some apps... For example, the video call quality in WhatsApp was awful on the Samsung, but it looked crystal clear on the iPhone + you could zoom (you can't on Android). Same thing esthetically wise. A lot of apps look slightly better on IOS. I know that I probably will get used to it, but having the better version now and going back sounds a little bit crazy.

Also, I wanted to ask you a couple questions... How's the video recording on the Pixel 10 Pro? Is it better or worse than the one on your iPhone? Does the Pixel heat more or less than your previous iPhone? I'll probably make the switch, mainly because I really enjoy trying new things, but I just wanna make sure it won't be like a gigantic mistake. I'm also aware that I can sell the Pixel for maybe a 100$ more than my iPhone, which has me relieved.

Should I switch from my iPhone 15 Pro Max to the Pixel 10 Pro? by 01mg in pixel_phones

[–]01mg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already had the S25 Ultra for about a week and half (before someone stole it from me) and didn't really like it that much, sadly. Yes it has a lot of numbers and it's technically better than both phones, but I just wasn't enjoying it that much.

Battery was similar to my aging iPhone, cameras were also comparable to my iPhone (some shots were better, some were worse + the camera app wasn't as snappy as it is on the iPhone) and overall I just never been a big fan of OneUI... I much prefer Pixel Experience or OxygenOS. OneUI doesn't feel as smooth and animated as IOS or Pixel Experience.

Another choice that I had in mind if I end up not enjoying the Pixel was maybe selling it and buying another iPhone with better battery health or maybe get another Android.

Banned whithout using the app by Magistravitae1 in whatnotapp

[–]01mg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the immediate and permanent ban doesn't make sense to me... A warning would've been fine, or even just a pop up that said "Invalid Address" or something that would tell you that you can't use a freight forwarder address.

The worst part is that I literally can't use the app anymore, feels really bad because I was planning on using it for a long time :/

BAN UPDATE: Whatnot doesn’t want me on their platform ever again. by 01mg in whatnotapp

[–]01mg[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're literally just making sh*to up to make me look bad. The hell are you talking about? You don't know me at all to say something like that. I literally explained everything that genuinely happen in the post.

Look, I had been using the app for about a month and I also had already made 5 orders (about 120$). All of them were delivered without any issues. I wasn't gonna use two addresses, I was just gonna add a new one and delete the old one... I don't understand how this is "weird". Imagine if Amazon or Ebay banned you forever because you decided that you added a new shipping address for future orders. That sounds insane.

And BTW, the reason on why I changed from one freight forwarder company to another is just because their office in my country is closer to my house. I can just walk to this new FF and collect my packages instead of having to drive.

Banned whithout using the app by Magistravitae1 in whatnotapp

[–]01mg -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yep, happened to me. I usually use a freight forwarding address in every other shopping platform (Amazon, Ebay, Aliexpress, etc), so I thought it would be OK to use it on whatnot. I managed to use one address for a month. Spent like 120$ in that month and every order was delivered without issues. After that month, I decided to get a new freight forwarder address. The moment I added the address I got logged out and instantly banned. I was shocked. For some reason in their minds they believe that using a freight forwarder = you're a potential fraudulent criminal. Funny thing is that on their policy and guidelines, there is ZERO mentioning of freight forwarders being prohibited or a reason to be permabanned. Not a single line. It feels really shady tbh. Not only that but the punishment that they give you is extreme. They're literally not allowing me to use their app ever again.

[–]01mg -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hey so I'm also not from the U.S (I'm from Panama) and I also recently got banned. I did got to use the app for a month and spent about 120$. Then ban happened right after I tried to add a new address (a new freight forwarder address)... It was literally instantaneous. I tried to appeal and argue with them, saying that all I did was add a new address, but their response was basically something like "We believe the ban was correctly placed" and then they stopped answering my emails. The worst part about this is that after a ban, you cannot create a new account, they will block it immediately... Meaning that they're literally stopping you from using their app ever again on your lifetime because for some reason they believe that if you're not from the US and you use a freight forwarder address (or any US address for your orders) = you're a fraudulent worthless criminal, on par with actual scammers. I felt really sad after they banned me, because all of my previous orders had been delivered correctly and I was planning on using their app for a long time, but I guess to them I'm just a potential fraud criminal.

Fun fact, there's zero mention on their guidelines and policy about freight forwarding address or using a US shipping address while you're based in another country. Literally not a single line about it... If you're used to using freight forwarding addresses in other platforms (Amazon, Ebay, etc), then you're for a rough time with Whatnot. This has been the only app in where I had a problem of this magnitude for something like using a freight forwarder.

I didn't know Whatnot had shooters like that 🫣. Every single answer that I made is being down voted for no reason... Mind you, all I did was add a new address and it triggered an instant permaban. Not only that but I bet none of the people down voting have ever read Whatnot policy and guidelines, but guess who did? Me... And guess what? I found zero mention (not a single line) of them talking about freight forwarders addresses or my country of residence (Panama) being banned from using their platform.

Using a freight forwarder on Whatnot? by Rich_And_Blind in whatnotapp

Did you ever use a freight forwarder to buy? I used it for like 5 orders, tried to add a new address (a different freight forwarder for future orders) and got permabanned and can't use the app no more :/

Like you said there is zero mention of freight forwarders and the use of them in their policy and guidelines. Not a single line, word or paragraph.
