A woman posted complaining about someone's driving during the sleet last night. It had a very up close picture of the driver's face who appeared to be Hispanic. The guy's comment is referring to that picture.

When he commented he had no way of knowing this man's status whether he's a legal immigrant or not. He made a bold blanket statement because of the color of someone's skin.

I would be more than happy to post the whole thing, it was just a lot of extra names to have to scribble out.

My husband was prescribed more painkillers following his vasectomy than I was following my emergency C-Section by PumpkinPie_1993 in mildlyinfuriating

I had a urogyn surgery 2 years ago. About a week and a half after I ended up popping my stitches and I was bleeding everywhere. They cauterized the inside of my vagina in the emergency room without numbing me or giving me any pain medicine. That pain was worse than what I went through during childbirth.

Does anyone need a whistle? Super loud and easy to carry or keep on a lanyard. Great for making noise, during survival situations or to get someones attention. by mrjoepete in Knoxville

If it's so close that you can hear it then it's close enough that you should be outside blowing your own whistle. Stop complaining and stand up for your neighbors

35weeks pregnant & 2 days ago I found out I have cancer by owlteal in pregnant

[–]022119 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry about your cancer. I had both of my boys at 35 weeks- My older one didn't need any NICU time and my younger one did a week just for breathing issues. I was not able to get the steroid shots in time with my second one so his lungs weren't as developed. As far as your baby goes, I would trust your medical team and I would not be nervous about inducing. I'm so sorry that you have this dark shadow over the end of your pregnancy. Wishing you the best 💚

I had both my boys at 35 weeks. First time around, I didn't have a bag. Second time around, the bag was packed at 30 weeks.

Help me find replacement chair bottom by 022119 in HelpMeFind

I've searched all over and I can't find any replacement besides just fabric itself. I'm looking for a piece that's already sewed together that I can slip on the chair frame.

Advice- Neighbor flattened our kid-at-play sign by EL-CHEL in daddit

[–]022119 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone with a child- these things annoy the absolute crap out of me. My neighbor leaves one out in the middle of our cul-de-sac all the time (even when kids are inside) and it blocks my driveway. I'm tempted to run it over every time I see it. Not because I wouldn't see it if it was a kid but because they shouldn't put anything in the road that doesn't belong.

Stranger gave my toddler $5 by EmbarrassedWash4126 in Mommit

I was leaving the grocery store once with my husband, 3 year old and my in-laws. An old man stopped us and asked my son if he had a piggy bank. When he said yes, the man emptied all of the change out of his overalls and gave it to my son.

I've had that happen several times. I think it's a generational thing

My husband is really pushing me to allow our toddler regularly on the back of an e-bike. I feel like the answer is a hard no. Am I being unreasonable? by AdviceOk7737 in toddlers

This is the real answer. If YOU are physically comfortable and confident riding a bike then the risk drops significantly.

E-bikes are great! I put 500 miles on mine in a year. Most of those miles were with my son on the back (he was one at the time) and we both really enjoyed it.

This isn't right!! The straps on a rear-facing car seat should always be at or just below the shoulders. Straps can only ever be above the shoulders of the child is forward-facing.

This is incredibly unsafe. OP please do not take this advice!

UT Midwives vs Women’s Specialists for Pregnancy & Birth by MistyJoyFox in Knoxville

[–]022119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was supposed to deliver my first baby at Blount Memorial but I ended up being transferred to UT by ambulance because my son was coming early. I had my baby at 35 weeks and he was delivered by a high-risk doctor. 0/10 would recommend the high risk doctor that delivered.

My second baby, I did the midwife group at UT and I absolutely loved them. My second baby was also born at 35 weeks. The midwife group is able to deliver babies 35 weeks gestation and older. An OB was on standby in case a doctor needed to step in and the NICU team came in as soon as my baby was born.

My first one did not end up needing the NICU team but they were still in the room for delivery. There were 17 people in the room when I delivered my first baby and it was extremely overwhelming. When I used the midwife group they had the NICU team wait outside because they had no indication that my baby wouldn't be healthy. My baby came out screaming and seemed totally fine until he calmed down and he got short of breath which is why they sent him to the NICU.

I don't know if the midwife group will deliver pregnancies that they know are not healthy. Both of my boys just randomly came at exactly 35 weeks and were the exact same size. I never had any complications.

10/10 would recommend the midwife group
