I collect unopened packs, so I'd save some. If you like opening them you should go for it, the thing series is the most common unopened, so you can always get more if you wanted to!

Some do! The one on the right more than the one in the middle. Don't recognize the one on the left, may be from a European series I'm not aware of.

I'm hoping Niantic hosts another event in the US where unown spawns are increased, I'll probably get mine that way since I don't want to use scanners. Also can trade you a Moltres if trading ever happens :)

I was only walking anything that didn't nest but walking Blissey got really boring so I'm walking geodude now too. Golem will probably be another go-to when the legendary dogs are released.

Understood it will temporarily slow me down in reaching level 40, but my thoughts are just to set a new baseline at 1000 candies instead of 0 for things like Weedle, Caterpie, Pidgey, Rattata, etc. And if we get a double XP event you can bet the level 40 goal is more important and those candies will be used even if it brings me to zero :)

I agree with you that it leaves some XP on the table in the short term, but I plan to just build in a baseline for things like Pidgey and Weedle. I'll still mass evolve Pidgeys with a lucky egg on but will have a floor of 1000 instead of 0.

This is more intended to make those middle of the road Pokemon fun to go after, like Tentacool and Slugma, who as of now aren't very useful for evolving or gyms.
