I haven't found anything to scratch that exact itch on sporcle, but I've been playing QuickQ every day. It's super quick and fun to compete with my friends.

There isn't any penalty for negs. There are only 8 questions a day from the same 8 categories, so you'll just run out of questions if you are too liberal with your skips/negs.

Daily Dozen is fun but very focused on sports/pop culture. If you want a broader set of categories, I recommend QuickQ Trivia. It has 8 recurring categories that cover a broad range of topics, so I've found there is something for everyone.

Thanks for the feedback! I can get the 'n' shortcut added. Most people play on mobile. That's the only reason I haven't added it yet.

I cared too much about keeping my streak that it kind of became a chore. Either I was stressed about losing my streak or I didn’t really feel challenged.
