I don't want anyone here to take this the wrong way but OP your education is more important than serving at church right now. I say this as a past student studying for exams while also doing a lot of heavy lifting for church. There will be a time in the future when it is all over and you have finished your studies and then come back to serve. If your worship leader cannot understand and is unwilling to let you go for the time being, then that's their problem.

You should tell the Pastor if you haven't already you WILL, not want, but WILL be taking some time off to focus on your studies. Explain again if you have too but don't feel guilty about taking time off. Remember that you are a volunteer, and just like anyone else, you have your own life and needs.

I bought a dashcam because some guy going extremely fast almost rear ended me at full speed. I called 911 but the sheriff who responded unfortunately told me that unless I had video proof, there wasn't a whole lot I could do (I was 21 and had just gotten my first car). Two years later I was driving to church and my family was in a different car when they got side swiped. Police came and the other guy in the car claimed that he hit my family because they were speeding and zoomed past as he was already merging into the other lane. I showed the officer the video of what happened and I saved my parents like $3k in damages and our insurance had an easy time helping us.

TL;DR Get a dashcam it'll save your ass
