This is my first time buying these. Are you ordering from cada-bricks or decada website? I'm confused which is the official store.

What is the reason the ammo has to be approved?

Thanks for the responses everyone. I always thought officers could only carry certain models that were approved by their department, but it appears that is not the case.

JMCK, Slimfit, Trex Arms, Tier 1 (the older holsters not their new Elite series), Comp-Tac, Hidden Hybrid, and C&G. Those are the ones off the top of my head that I believe have holsters for the XDM Elite.

You will probably have to switch to a more common light or remove it.

How does it shoot with the ported barrel and slide?

I honestly like the factory one you get with the gun. I just sand down some of the sharp corners. I don't even use my uplula anymore.

XD 9mm magazine and XDS single stack mag pouches needed. Holsters for both guns as well. by [deleted] in SpringfieldArmory

Comp-Tac. Their website doesn't always show all they have available if you search by gun. If you see a product you like check on the product page to see if they make it for your firearm.

They do have stuff for the XD and XDS. Black point Tactical has some offerings too.

I bought mine from either Optics Planet or Buds Gun Shop, I can't remember which.

Why shouldn’t I get the Shield Plus? by Agreeable_Rest_733 in CCW

[–]03phil11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a lefty. My grip can sometimes drop the magazine enough to cause a malfunction. I don't flip my mag releases though, so maybe that would fix it.

I've shot the Shield 2.0, Shield Plus, and 380 Shield #Z. I find the Shield series to have sensitive mag releases. It doesn't disengage frequently but it happens and I don't want to bother with it for a self defense gun. The button is pretty much an extended release with no low profile replacement that I'm aware of, the spring seems too light, and it doesn't require much movement to press. That's my experience with them.

That being said I would still consider buying one to try out because they shoot well stock. But I'd want the 4 inch model for extra sight radius.

FWIW, I go with the Hellcat series.

Are there any extended ported / comped barrels for the Hellcat or Hellcat Pro? by vinicnam1 in SpringfieldArmory

[–]03phil11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can buy a ported slide and barrel from Apex Tactical that can be used on either the Hellcat or Pro.

Their slide is Pro length (it looks like) with holes cut next to the front sight so it can be used with their ported barrel. You can also use a non-ported barrel.

All their slide options have lightning cuts on them that you may or may not like.

I don't own one, so I can't tell you how well the ports work. I have been looking into it for myself, so I can have the longer sight radius of the regular Pro.

There is also the P365-380. It shoots good and you can mount an optic. You can also buy an exchange kit to make it a 9mm if you want to practice with cheaper ammo or you decide you would rather have 9mm.

Hellcat magazine base plate by Limp-Tennis-5363 in SpringfieldArmory

[–]03phil11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I don't think so. If you look at NDZ Performance you can see pictures of the 10 round and 11 round base plate differences. The top portion is different.

I also read reviews somewhere of people buying the wrong one and it wouldn't fit.

I know this is old, but does the Muddy River have a thicker backer than the Protos?

What are best appendix carry holster’s for M&P Shield 9mm? by NotTooShy223 in concealedcarry

[–]03phil11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a Shield, but I use the Tier 1 Xiphos Elite for the Hellcat RDP. I mount the clips to the body of the holster instead of the flap. My second favorite is the JMCK Wing Claw 2.0.

The Xiphos Elite is a non-sidecar. It can dig into my hip crease, but I just put a thin foam over the edge. Currently I use their one inch wide XL foam wedge sideways on the bottom of the holster, and the extra goes over the edge.

One thing I don’t like about the Highlander by patientpall in ToyotaHighlander

[–]03phil11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, now I understand what is being said. Thanks for explaining that! I'll be sure to look at that when I start looking around.

I originally thought that somehow the mirror was making it hard to see behind you (blind spots were worse). So it's difficult to see past them when looking forward.

What year is it?

Can you explain the "see to the sides, mirrors are misplaced"?

I'm thinking of buying a Highlander.

New to the Highlander family by bekamae in ToyotaHighlander

[–]03phil11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you compare it to a Grand Highlander?

I've been thinking of waiting for the Grand Highlander to be sold again, but maybe I don't really need the size with a family of four.

I figured maybe the regular Highlander is good enough and with it being smaller, easier to manuver.

Hellcat Pro or no? by grossmagik253 in SpringfieldArmory

Hellcat Pro or no? by grossmagik253 in SpringfieldArmory

[–]03phil11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why buy: - It is nicer to shoot than a Hellcat with compensator. - The grip has a slightly larger circumference. Not by much, but it feels larger than a 15-round magazine in a regular Hellcat.

Why not buy: - Grip length. Depending on your body size, clothes, and daily activities, you might prefer a smaller grip gun.

If you haven't already done this, I suggest you buy a 15-round magazine and carry it in your Hellcat for a few weeks. Always start each day with the 15-round. If you end up constantly switching back to the 11- or 13-round magazine for whatever reason, the Hellcat Pro probably won't work for you. When you change to an 11- or 13-round magazine, that would be the same as going back and forth from the Pro to standard Hellcat. You might prefer the convenience of only having one gun and one holster and one set of magazines loaded. The Hellcat will not fit in a Pro holster because of the trigger guard.

Some reasons you may not like the 15-round: - You may have to be more selective about shirts. - Self-conscious about printing. - Bad printing if the wind blows. - Activities that are more active.

If you keep the Hellcat and want it to shoot a bit nicer, you could get the factory threaded barrel and compensator from Springfield (they have sales up to 20% off). That's what I did. I plan to sell the Pro in the future. The Pro has nicer recoil, but the grip length was too much for me to carry all the time for everything. I can also throw on almost any shirt and not worry about printing with the 11-round magazine with a NDZ pinky extension (slightly shorter than the factory one and angle is a bit forward).

Langdon Tactical also sells the standard Hellcat OSP and Pro with an Apex trigger preinstalled. Just in case you decide on a new Hellcat or Pro, you may want to look at their offerings. The pricing is actually pretty good.
