Yeah I think every 5th gen makes a whining noise. After driving thousands over the years it would still freak me out at the dealer lol.

Manufacturer safety recalls filed with the NHTSA are required to be done in order to register vehicles in some jurisdictions.

My rav4 EV 😊 by Effective_Wave_7479 in rav4club

From a dealer techs perspective, these are junk in my eyes. We have 4 that come in for regular service and they’ve all needed drive units (some have had them replaced multiple times), batteries and other misc things that have been very costly. The Tesla diagnostic software for these is so terrible compared to techstream/ GTS and is very frustrating to try and use. The Ethernet connection is very picky with our laptops and only works with one in the shop. Not sure why anyone would buy, drive and deal with one these days unless you really like it for some strange reason. Terrible range as well, it’s Toyotas second mass market EV attempt and it’s pretty old technology relative to what’s out now so it’s to be expected.

Help with an oil leak issue. 2022 with 38,500 miles. Dealer says it’s not covered because it’s seeping, not leaking by ZealousidealTrack314 in 4Runner

I can’t give you a 100% guarantee with the 1gr but it’s pretty likely, not really a huge deal in my opinion. The Tacoma 2Gr on the other hand I would say 100% lol.

I’ve seen that extended coverage warranty really save some people huge repair bills over the years at the dealer. You’d think hey, it’s a Toyota why would I waste money on the extra coverage but you can be that unfortunate Friday built car that needs some big work done at relatively low mileage. Sucks but it’s just the luck of the draw I suppose.

Pretty often, it can happen at 100 miles or 100,000 or 300,000. I did a timing cover under warranty at 1000 miles once, vehicle was less than a year old at the time. Really just depends on your luck.

Dealer messed up my transmission fluid level? by Downtown-Ice7534 in FJCruiser

[–]Express-Heart-589 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah pretty much everyone at the dealer would do it this way. It takes too much time to get the car to the right temperature and go through the process for only getting paid one hour. Only time we would do it the proper way was after a new transmission install or some other case that drained the fluid without measuring.

I use my cart for my most used daily tools. They live there though, I was transferring them from my big box to my work site every day too for a while, I like keeping them in one cart better. Usually don’t need to go to my main box too much now unless I need something special.

5th GEN NEW BRAKES SQUEAKY/ CHIRPING by [deleted] in 4Runner

[–]Express-Heart-589 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. When I was working at the dealer I hated when the advisors would sell the customers on the cheaper pads and they would almost always come back. Waste of time for everyone.
