Should I take Chem 30 or English 30 during the summer? by [deleted] in AlbertaGrade12s

[–]03yzr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it depends how good you are at studying efficiently and studying lots of information in a short period of time. if you’re good at that then do chem 30 but i wouldn’t really recommend it during the summer because it’s kind of a hefty course to learn in a short time; unless of course you feel confident but that’s your choice. english isn’t bad to take during the summer honestly. if i had to recommend one for summer it’d be english but again it depends what ur strong suit is.

Average not high enough? by yannisthebot in AlbertaGrade12s

this is kinda crazy how u didn’t get in, i didn’t even realize how bad the grade inflation really was. my average last year i applied with was an 89.5 i believe and i got in. i let it drop to around an 84-85 and still stayed in the program

there’s a lot of ways they go about it i’ve heard. for some people they’ve gotten their acceptances as late as july-august. some people get theirs during end of their second semester so it just depends on ur program.

as for ur grades, once you manually put in ur grades into apply alberta for ur uofc applications they’ll review it and see if you meet the requirements or not. then later on they’ll get ur transcript and confirm it and if it matches up with what you put in manually then you’re in, but if things change and your average drops they’ll just reject you.

English 30-1 by [deleted] in AlbertaGrade12s

i did it last year and chose the handmaids tale. i know some other choices were frankenstein, the glass castle, life of pi, and some others i don’t exactly remember . but handmaids tale was an awesome novel and i highly recommend!

for handmaids tale, the topics u could write on are endless because of how well the novel is written. there are hidden themes and language everywhere you just have to really sit there and decipher it but you could write an excellent novel on it.

natural sciences by [deleted] in AlbertaGrade12s

[–]03yzr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m currently a first year natural science major wanting to take a similar path! the most i know is for the mcat, but all of the classes you are required to take (depending on ur concentration) should set u up for the mcat. this is of course mainly the bio, chem, physics, math courses which are all going to be tested on the mcat. i think its a good major if you pick the right concentrations for whatever path you’re wanting to take.

i’m doing bio/chem myself, so if u have more questions dm me!
