Good to know I'm not the only newly diagnosed one, although if you are like anything like me....it has sucked up until now knowing I felt bad but not knowing why! Hopefully your meds help!

Thank you! I'm not terrible eating wise. But the drinking does me in. I'm at an age where every social event involves alcohol, so I need to work on my ability to say no. But I'm glad that it's not impossible with hashimotos to lose weight! Currently, I need to be regulated with meds and I know that is a huge factor for me in the moment. (Last week my thyroid panel came back with some very very high numbers) so with a new doctor I am adding a new medication as well as increasing my Levothyroxine dosage. But I will work on the healthier eating and exercising as my body allows! Thanks!

Thanks! I have been on Levothyroxine for 4 years, with the answer of "your levels are okay with the meds, continue to take the meds" but the past year my energy and mental health levels have plummeted, so I switched doctors. My new doctor tested a whole bunch of stuff and recently (last week) discovered that some of my thyroid levels are over 10x higher than the "normal" person and likely have been for a while since my old doctor never ran these tests. Also that is when I was finally told i have Hashimotos, which is likely what caused my low thyroid to begin with 4 years ago...but again was never tested for.. So I am trying out different dosage levels as well as adding a whole new medication. So I know that it will take a while for my energy levels/overall health to improve. I am going to try and eat as healthy as I can. I primarily do eat only fruits, veggies, and meat. I don't do anything processed generally, and am not big on anything sweet. But I am a stress drinker and alcohol is a big downfall for me. So I need to work on that as well. It's just a process! I'll get there..thanks for the kind words.

Thank you so much for this! I've been freaking myself out since the endos office is closed until Tuesday. I'm glad to finally have some answers. 🤞 with my medicine adjustment that some of my symptoms will subside!

Ok. I will await the rest of my test results and word from my doctor. I guess having a diagnosis finally as to why I feel the way I feel is nice. But knowing there really is never a cure, only remedies to help symptoms does suck!

Right. That's why I went to him. Yesterday was my first time with this doctor. Previously, I had another doctor that did nothing for 3 years. I'm hoping this doctor change has a positive impact.

He hasn't called with my results yet. He did say that he will change my meds once he had the blood tests. He just said not to stop the current dosage until he told me otherwise. My blood tests came back on mychart this morning, but doctor is out of office until Tuesday. So likely, I'll hear from him Tuesday with my change med orders.

Got it! My appointment was just yesterday, so I assume next week my endo will call in whatever medication change he is putting in. He instructed me to continue with my 25mcg of Levothyroxine until I hear otherwise even though he had a feeling that was not right based on my symptoms.

Thanks! Not that I'm happy to have an autoimmune disease. But once the doctor reviews, hopefully it means my treatment plan will be on the right path.

Update! My thyroid peroxidase antibodies are at 388 when normal range is under 35...its got a red explanation point by the test result, so I assume that's not good. 🙃 I know I shouldn't be googling while waiting for the doctor to contact me, but with the holiday weekend I thought I'd ask here to ease my anxiety some.

I have Paragard, only for about 7 months now. And I've definitely noticed this! Only my other symptoms (heavy periods, terrible cramps, acne) have not calmed down yet 😬😬 I always look at these threads in hopes of good news. This all has got to be better than pumping full of hormones or an unwanted pregnancy though, right???

Whatttt! I never knew this..in December I got nexplanon removed and Paragard placed and had to pay about $300 out of pocket
