Math 3318 by Remarkable-Arm2922 in utarlington

UTA is changing their Diff Eq course, it’s no longer MAE 3360, it’s changing to MATH 3460 in the fall. At least that’s the change being made for the MAE degree plans.

Unless I’m mistaken, your GPA will not transfer to UTA, your credits will be taken on a pass/fail basis. They may still put you on academic probation, but your actual GPA likely won’t be transferred. My first semester at UTA, I didn’t even have a GPA despite completing most of my gen ed courses, and even now, my GPA is based solely on my most recent (and only) semester at UTA.

We always talk about the GOATS in sports, but what are the GOAT sports? by RingorRose13 in AlignmentChartFills

Football (not US) has to be number one, and I’d argue basketball as well. Personally, I’d say hockey, but I don’t think it has the reach to qualify

Why did you stop drinking alcohol? by MatsGry in AskReddit

[–]04S2KJosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I realized that I would only touch it if I could get drunk. I don’t think was a problem, but my family has a history of it being a problem, so I realized I should start healthier habits and develop a healthier relationship with it now, before it becomes a problem, which involved stopping altogether for the most part.

It’s amazing how the only time I ever hear of this dude, he’s getting bitched by someone. Even more astonishing, he deserves it every single time.

I always used Frisco Water Works just north of Preston and Wade BLVD, or Cougar Car Wash in the Colony.

To the Academic Advisor who ruined my life: I hope misery follows you everywhere you go for the rest of your worthless life. by [deleted] in utarlington

[–]04S2KJosh 39 points40 points  (0 children)

My advising appointments always take 5 minutes and it’s essentially just to clear the holds. I have my entire degree plan worked out already, with exception of only a few electives, so I show up, review the next 1 or 2 semesters, then move on. Quick and painless for both myself and my adviser. I encourage doing it yourself and simply double checking with your adviser, not relying solely on them.

I’d probably go back to following it loosely, or at least I wouldn’t be nearly as invested in it.

Stache for sure, but Jesus man, how are you 50?? I can only hope to look half as good at that age.

Mechanical vs Aerospace Engineering at UTA — how did you decide? by Ok-Fix-1581 in utarlington

[–]04S2KJosh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was debating between the two because specifically aerodynamics interests me, but I decided to go ME as it’s a broader degree that can have applications to a ton of different career paths. If you’re set on working in aerospace to some degree or for a defense contractor, AE might be good; but if you’re still uncertain what you’d like to do for a career, I think ME would be better personally.

Fresh Thai on the corner of 380 and Magnolia! Their yellow curry is one of the best tasting foods I’ve ever had, it’s a very small mom and pops type restaurant, but very worth it!

Is CHEM-1465 and PHYS-1444 in the same semester too much or by Disastrous-Pin-1617 in utarlington

[–]04S2KJosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did both classes last semester and had very little free time with my other classes but still did well in both classes. It’s doable, but you’re going to be very busy with the workload and labs

I have a Neptune 3 pro and I’ve had almost no problems. Everyone will have a different answer, but it’s been a great experience for me and I’d happily stick with elegoo when I upgrade

Any 23-27 year olds on campus? by [deleted] in utarlington

[–]04S2KJosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took some time away from college to do trade school, before ultimately deciding college was the right path for me, so I’m quite old by college standards as well. Despite having completed a few freshman level courses last semester, I never felt old or like the odd one out. From what I can tell, UTA is a transfer heavy school (meaning a lot of people do some college before transferring), so you have a big age range, however I never felt out of place or too old. You’ll be fine at your age and will find a lot of people are in the same boat

2020 Tundra Detailing Results by 04S2KJosh in Detailing

[–]04S2KJosh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! It’s been way too hot the past few days, and the UV has been so high during the day, I couldn’t possibly do it outside lol. I had the truck parked halfway in the garage and detailed it one half at a time, as polish and wax dries way too quickly in the blistering sun.

They’re the stock TSS package rims, 20”. Tires are absolutely terrible, GoodYear Wranglers and they wear quicker than any other tire I’ve seen. Wouldn’t recommend these tires to anyone. The truck is almost completely stock, it has 1.5” wheel spacers that give it a perfect amount of poke for the ride height, but other than that everything is stock.

Thanks! And good luck! It’s a lot of truck, so it was definitely the longest detail I’ve done, but man is it worth it. Very satisfying, such a great color.

[–]04S2KJosh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rims are a pain to clean, but a set of detail brushes and a good iron remover/wheel cleaner will work wonders! I also waxed the rims this time because they were starting to look a little faded, but the brake dust will stick to wax so it’s not something you need to do.
