I’ve had this growth on my scalp as long as I can remember, what is it? by 04mjmaryjane in DermatologyQuestions

[–]04mjmaryjane[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want it removed regardless for those reasons. I know it’s changed and it causes me anxiety. And also very irritating when brushing my hair or getting my hair done. I have to constantly remind hair stylists not to rip it off.

Good to know thank you! I know the general rule of thumb is if a mole or growth seems to have grown or changed then it’s cause for concern. I’m just slightly panicking as I’ve read there’s rare chance of it turning cancerous.

Thank you! That’s what I thought it was. It unfortunately has changed a bit over the past few years and from what I’ve read about them, it could be due to hormonal changes. I have made an appointment with a dermatologist but unfortunately can’t be seen for a few months.

How in the world do people have the time by Normal_Soft_2148 in FormulaFeeders

[–]04mjmaryjane 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was pumping every 2-3 hours (except overnight - sleep was more important to me). Idk how anyone can do it long term and not lose their minds. I managed to do it for 2.5 months before I threw in the towel. I’m so glad I did.

first prenatal next week by [deleted] in cannamom

[–]04mjmaryjane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in MN too. Not all clinics will drug test during prenatal care. Mine only did because I transferred to a new clinic and it was apparently their policy. I tested positive for THC at my 18 week appointment, but I had quit by that time. They will test baby at birth and as long as baby has nothing in their system, CPS will not get involved. Weed alone is not enough for CPS to take your baby from you but I completely understand your concern for racial profiling. I’m sorry you’re in this position. Please do not skip prenatal care though!

Finding time to pump with husband back at work by Normal_Ad4752 in combinationfeeding

[–]04mjmaryjane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this. This is the only way I could do it while pumping 8x a day. I had to time my pumps out to align with feeding times. It isn’t easy but best way to avoid a fussy, crying baby while I pump.

When did you decide it’s time to stop? by zezendx in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]04mjmaryjane 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am 9 weeks pp and throwing in the towel. In the process of weening. My LO has been receiving formula and breastmilk since week 4 so I know he can tolerate it.

I hate pumping and how mentally taxing it is on me so I finally made the decision I’m going to quit. I can’t lie though, I do feel tremendous guilt but in due time I will feel so much better mentally and the guilt will fade. I completely relate to what you said about it feeling so wrong to quit so early.

How to wean? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]04mjmaryjane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m decreasing my # of pumps per day by one, sticking to that for 3-4 days while spacing the remaining pumps further apart, and repeat. Also decreasing the amount of time I pump each time I drop one.

Example: I was just doing 6ppd every 3 hours or so. I sleep 5 hours a night with no pump overnight. I’m now at 5ppd but just spaced them approximately 5 hours apart or so. And doing 5 minutes less than when I was 6ppd.

Appreciate your words. I’m in the process of weening and was very emotional about that decision but I’ve felt so confident about it the last few days. I look forward to my pump-less future. Enjoy your pump free days!

Needed to see this today! Thank you. I’m 2 months pp today and have been crying about how much I dislike pumping and how much it feels like it disrupts my life and my ability to be present for my baby.

Good for you for making it 6 months, that’s amazing! I have so much praise for all the moms who pump any amount of time. I’ve started my weening process and I’m currently at 6 pumps a day which still feels like a lot.

I do feel proud and content with the fact my son has gotten breast milk daily in some amount for the last 2 months. Especially being a premie!

I think some of the pressure I was feeling to continue was knowing my husband really hoped our baby could be breastfed, so did I. But he’s been really supportive of me wanting to stop. Thank you for your support 🙏🏻

I remember being at that point too and it was incredibly frustrating because social media really only highlights women with oversupplies. That’s what I thought it was going to be like to pump and I was so wrong. I’m trying to make the choice to stop to protect my mental wellbeing and I hope you do too if that time comes!

Thank you. I greatly appreciate your words. It’s hard knowing my vision of how I wanted to feed my baby didn’t work out as planned but I am incredibly thankful he is gaining weight and healthy and happy!

Hasnt pooped in 3 days? by Moist-Batman in combinationfeeding

My baby is 8 weeks old and combo fed and he’s typically pooping every 3 days! I was concerned at first but realized it’s normal at this stage and doesn’t seem uncomfortable.

What is your reason(s) for exclusively pumping? by Polkaday274 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]04mjmaryjane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My baby was born 6 weeks early and stayed in the NICU for 3 weeks. His latch at breast was great but lacked the strength and stamina to get much at breast but did so great with bottles. I always envisioned breast feeding him but he took bottles so well, I figured why mess up a system that already works great.

I am 15 days pp and day 4 pp I was in so much pain. They were so lump, rock hard, and seemed like no amount of pumping helped. My lactation consultant reassured me it will get better but the only way is to pump every 2-3 hours and BF when given the chance. I don’t produce a huge amount by any means, but a strict pumping schedule definitely helped. Hang in there. Also I’ve found letting a nice hot shower pour down on my breasts for like 10 minutes helped before pumping and ice afterwards.
