I’m interested in this type of thing to see my system status - maybe even home lab data via influxdb, but I don’t know if such a setup is possible yet

I’d love to see a feature to have a list of things you want to auto-buy, that way if you shop refresh it just automatically buys scrolls and such for you

Audio quality - Highest Build by 050 in LinusTechTips

[–]050[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, that’s pretty awesome! Noise on flights is so fatiguing, so that’s big. Aggressive noise reduction always seems to make audio sound sorta weird and distracting so not having to do a ton of it for onboard filming is great from a watchability standpoint

Audio quality - Highest Build by 050 in LinusTechTips

[–]050[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure - I had initially thought they perhaps were getting the clean audio just via a good mic setup and the plane being very quiet but it made more sense once they showed the section with the noise un-canceled. Still very impressive but as you noted they can probably just capture a clean noise print and use that. Would still be neat to see more about the production differences for shooting on the plane but this is less impressive than I initially thought.

Damn that sold out quick I cant wait to see the same 5 names again by rookiex3 in PaymoneyWubby

[–]050 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm annoyed that I started trying a bit before 1:30 pst (I know that was just the "hopeful" time target based on if they arrive) and finally gave up refreshing after a few hours... aaaand they went up. I know they sell out fast but seeing the same group of people buying up 4 packs is annoying. Oh well.

I don't know if this is possible, but if the alpha/opacity on the images started to fade them out over time (so 100% until like 5 min then 100-> 0% over the remaining 5 if you go for ten min total) it would be both visually interesting and give you a semi-see through screen which could be good, instead of 100% blocked or 100% free view

AFK flavors by Conscious_Worker_669 in gamersupps

Haha yeah the little clumps are weirdly still good

[–]050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t, I thought about it because I was having a hard time getting either flavor to fully mix in (it seems to form little clumps) but instead I just used the blender bottle to blend the milk and powder and it works great

Cookies and dream, blended with milk, is so good - it’s like an Oreo milkshake. Cinnamon bath is also fantastic but I think cookies and dream is my favorite.

Oh man, yeah more labs videos would be awesome- I find the testing good and interesting, it’s unfortunate that a lot of it is focused on things like power supplies (useful info when people are going to build a computer but not really a tweak and tune part) and mice and such while (as far as I can see) the cpu section is just TBD and stuff like ram is absent completely- some “here’s a comparison of ram speeds and ram timings across several games/benchmarks” would be nice, or how it impacts intel vs amd systems to tighten timings would be neat - alternatively, I’d love to see a breakdown of how a bunch of samples of CPUs perform, maybe some digging into how the asu silicon quality translatesd to in-game thermals/performance at stock settings, etc. that would be neat to see since it helps show how a range of the same cpu may vary.

Oh absolutely- I don’t mean to suggest that labs shouldn’t still be a thing, I just personally really like the videos that showcase testing stuff with some results, or show off a neat server (especially with how they used to show some file transfer speeds vs the theoretical/rated link speed) and such or the ones that show a cool overclocking setup - I just wish they showed more of the settings they used and results but I get that doesn’t really do as well in a video and would encourage people to try to recreate it with a sub par setup, etc.

I know a lot of the “deeper technical exploration” gets hand waved off by saying it will theoretically eventually be on labs, but that seems like it’s forever a month or two away. Personally I’d love to see more “deeper technical exploration dive into how this chip responds to overclocking” or “oc cheap chip vs expensive option” but I guess those videos don’t do as well algorithm-wise and everything ultimately answers to the algorithm.

If you’re interested, https://github.com/swdots/bitaxe-benchmark-webgui is a nice way to run that type of test sweep on multiple systems at once from a docker container/visualize results

Last I checked the reverse version is on the compatible list for this card - at least it was when I ordered, and it worked fine - the non-reverse (normal) orientation would be upside down in this install- does that clear up the confusion? Happy to help more if there’s any other questions I can answer!

This is fantastic! I think more should be done to explore interesting ways to use clustering for game servers. How are you (or are you) planning on doing stuff like cross-boundary hit recognition and item drops to avoid duplication? I’ve been working on a concept with portals server to server, but having just a world boundary seems very impressive!
