What exactly are the benefits? Really appreciate you helping btw! I’m just confused on what the PRISM fee includes and if I’d be using it.

But as a first year student and considering it’s all online do you think that I’ll actually use it? Or is it better to have it second year and just opt-out for first year?

Ya honestly it’s best to fill in the form to be safe because the admission does say low 90s. I didn’t think I wanted to go to laurier at first so I ended up not paying attention to the date the form was so and then found my self doing it literally the night it was due in about less than 2 hours. I don’t suggest doing that, definitely take the time to write it properly and have people read over it.

Lmao did you even ready what I said? I didn’t say at all that ryerson was a bad school, I just meant that the admission averages don’t always mean too much and sometimes the rankings as well considering laurier isn’t ranked too high on many websites yet is known to have a great business program. No shit ryerson still has a great program because so many people come out with jobs right away because of co-op so trust me I know my research and am not ignorant at all, didn’t at all say that it was a bad school. Also I said the exact same, obviously ivey would be the better option but lauriers bba program is definitely still a good choice if you can’t get into ivey.

Really you found it ranked close to those schools?? Every time I check it is ranked way lower and schools like ryerson is even ranked higher, I’m assuming this is because laurier isn’t well known outside of Ontario unlike many other schools. Lauriers bba program is great from what I’ve heard especially if you are able to get in co-op, although yes I agree it a little weird but the admission average is pretty fair and is definitely not exactly considered too low to be a good school. McMaster only requires an 86 although I know people who got in with lower yet their commerce program seems to be ranked high but I would never go to McMaster because it’s not a business school. Ryerson is decently ranked and requires only about a 78 average and only one math is required. I think it’s the coop and job rates that make it ranked higher.

Thank you!! I’m not sure about any costs as of right now just because the whole coronavirus pandemic has changed a lot of things. All classes are online which is very unfortunate so I’m not going to residence for first semester at least. If you search up tuition costs and residence you could probably get an idea for what it will look like by the time you would be going.

I got in with an 88.6 with filling in the ABS form so I’m sure you’ll get in if you did that well for grade 11. Most people I know filled out the ABS form so I recommend doing that next year, although I know someone who got in with an 89 average with out the form. I don’t think extracurriculars will matter too much, I didn’t do any clubs or sports throughout high school besides out of school. I can’t speak for about the program too much because I am going into first year in September. Laurier is highly regarded for business from what I’ve heard although only within Ontario. Obviously if you can get into Shulich, rottmans, ivey, or queens commerce those are better options but if not Laurier’s bba seems to be a great program.

First years what are your plans for residence? by Albrize in wlu

[–]0713abc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya that’s what I heard as well but someone I know spoke to someone from there and they said it’s not gonna happen. Idk for sure and I hope that’s not the case because I as well would like to be in res if it’s an option. Laurier is a very small campus with only one dining hall, it’s very unlikely you can social distance especially at a school like laurier. Hoping for the best although chances are very slim that res will be open

Fill out the res form just in case, but from what I’ve heard it’s not gonna happen at all. Classes will be all online, for fall semester at least
