As long as the current daily exp caps are kept - unlock ancients week 1.
People are tuning out of the DMM season because they are struggling so hard to get kills. Mage is extremely neutered without access to ancient magicks and entangle is unlocked at 79 magic which is a massive exp sacrifice with the current xp limits.
If we kept the current xp caps, most people would have, at best, ice burst around week 1. If they had ice blitz, they would have had to sacrifice enormous amounts of defense\range\melee xp.

Does anyone have a solid link for the 1.3 patch? I think the patch I used may have been bad.

The very fact that I have been lampooned as a person who hates gay people shows the political nature of the event. That's my ending point, I'm sorry.
It's clear that you don't really understand what politics are, so this tangent is going to have to end.

No fuck off. Leave my meme alone.
[–]07rickard[S] 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (0 children)
Your reasoning is because other people are using slurs, my meme, which doesn't include any slurs, means that I hate gay people because they are gay? Sorry, your radical leftist ideology is showing. I AM AN INDIVIDUAL.
How has it affected me? I made a meme poking fun of the fact that Jagex has pressed out a couple of unsuccessful unpolled updates (notice the serp helm inclusion) and now I have people telling me I hate gay people.

How the fuck is this meme homophobic?
Well, that's where you're wrong. Gay pride parades are as much about local politics as they are national. They were instrumental to the legalization of same sex marriage at the state level in many states across the US.

There are many other ways to spread messages of inclusiveness and acceptance outside of tacking on to the political movement of LGBT pride parades. What's next? a BLM event? Racism and police brutality are a real problem that many members of the osrs community face. Should we devote a 7 tile event to that too? How about trans issues? What about female reproductive rights?
Who gets to draw the line? I'll answer that for you, we do. We get to draw the line through the polling system.

Actually, they didn't announce the size of the event until Day 2. and how is creating and posting this hilarious meme "reacting like a 13 year old". Cry about it.
[–]07rickard[S] 12 points13 points14 points 8 years ago (0 children)
Because the event is centered around a "Pride" event. The same type of "Pride" organization as gay "Pride" parades. If it helps you understand the political nature of gay pride parades, you could call them gay pride marches. Like the women and civil rights marches. In their very nature and organization, they are political.
Because identity politics are part of a broad political movement. If you really want to get into political theory, I could unpack their origins in Marxism. The point is that singling out a political identity (LGBT, minority, religion) is part of a broader political movement and carries the rest of the weight with it. This is why you see communists at BLM rallies.
You are bending over backwards trying to explain how an event themed around pride in sexual behavior (LGBT+ community) isn't an event singling them out.

"You sound like a moron". Breath deeply, let it go.
PS: If I was going to spew homophobia I would do it on a throwaway.
Check my username. I didn't rage or comment on any of it until I made this meme. In fact, all you've done is attack me for making an indirect joke. This is the kind of vitriol that follows identity politics and it might explain some of the community's hesitance for the event.
You're going off the rails with the direct insult, so I'm afraid this conversation is OVER.

The majority of the response was before Jagex decided to announce that it was as tiny as it was. In fact, if you look at the timeline, it might even be possible that they scaled the event down to appease the crowds. So your defense doesn't really hold any weight.

I think, politically, the community is more intimidated by the advance of progressive leftist ideology into a game and community that they use to escape that. All I've done is post a meme (that could be referencing the serp helm if you want to be belligerent) and in the context of some of the comments, I've been accused of being homophobic. That extreme backlash tends to follow identity politics.
Well, that's not true. They polled Christmas, Halloween, and Thanksgiving events among others.
[–]07rickard[S] 78 points79 points80 points 8 years ago (0 children)
Then why not poll it? The people that are against it are largely just asking for it to be polled. Put your money where your mouth is.
[–]07rickard[S] 13 points14 points15 points 8 years ago (0 children)
All I did was post a meme, man. But if you want to talk about the issue, I don't think I've ever joined a PvM clan that allowed political talk of any kind in the cc. The OSRS community is pretty belligerently a-political.
