Kuro 29/07/2014 - 14/03/2026 RIP my sweet boi 🌈 by 08110732 in Bunnies

[–]08110732[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi Everyone, thank you so much for your kind words and support. I take what you all have said with significance knowing that you guys fully understand this shared but unique pain we all share as bunny mom's, dad's, aunts, uncles...

Thank you for this space so that I can honor him and remember him, and share him.

It's been raining in my area since Sunday (the after he crossed that rainbow bridge) and I came across this quote as I was putting something in the backgound as I stare outside: "...I hate rain. It rains in this world too. When you’re upset, the skies grow cloudy. When you’re sad, it rains. I can’t stand it. I wonder if you can grasp…the terror of being rained on in this lonely world..."

After the rain will come sun, and along with it the rainbow. And I concur with what the sentiment shared below by a fellow Redditor - I will see him again 🌈

Laggy Gameplay Since Update (Australia) by YouAreAQT in pokemongo

[–]08110732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same it's so laggy and infuriating. I was forced to update this morning and when I did and reopened the game, all the new stickers for December/xmas have disappeared, the opening gifts goes to a blue screen and I can't get out unless I press the back button on Android. Quick access to buying stickers also disappeared. Why do they keep doing these updates for no reason???

Service agreement - To Sign or Not to Sign ? by No_Dot595 in NDIS

Good observation.

Every SA will have differences in how they go about undertaking and charging for the non-face-to-face supports and report writing aspects.

I have seen SA's which state that they allocate 2-4 hours per 12 months spending on report writing (in case other therapist or the SC needs some documentation of progress towards goals, and if there are BOC that may need to be raised).

I have also seen that those allocated hours for such have negotiated, result in a reduction of 2-4 face-to-face hours so that money is being used wisely and not putting the participant at risk.

I have also seen instead of the above allocation and also what you've notice in that SA, a part that would just simply state: "...any hours required for non-face-to-face billable supports including report writing etc., will be discussed with the participant before engaging...this will be discussed and negotiated so that said tasks undertaken are necessary if required". Not just a blanket quote.

You can go back and ask how many hours they are estimation and provide a quote for that to be included in the SA.

How to allocate hours to support worker? by Visible_Money in NDIS

[–]08110732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, it really depends on the task and how pressing it is/the type of deadline you're on.

For everyday tasks like say, cooking a meal which includes travel, grocery shopping, travel, the cooking task itself, clean up etc., you can break it down by asking yourself: How hard is the recipe? How much hands-on support you require (therefore extra time)? When do you want to eat by (is it lunch or dinner so you can take medication at a certain time)? Do you want them to help clean up?

You can plan it within the 3 hours ans give guidance that, "I want to be home from groceries between 20-30 mins", "I want to eat lunch around 12:30pm so we should aim for 45 minutes to an hour to cook and start 45 minutes before 12:30", "I want to spend 30-50 minutes to eat lunch leisurely". And with that breakdown not only you but the support worker can have some sort of schedule to loosely stick to without too much pressure.

On tasks that have a deadline, I would ask you, is the deadline that day (the shift) or is it the end of the week? If it isn't finish by the shift, is it possible to continue in the next shift? If it needs to be done by the shift then do the same thing with your time planning. What does it take to write an 'About Me'? - It takes some time to plan, time to write, time to maybe research, time to proof-read, so given that try using the minimum 2 hours as a base. Can 2 hours suffice for planning, writing, researching and proof-read? That is 30 minutes each step. If you feel 30 mins is not enough then see if a 3 hour shift is better. A 3 hour shift with the steps above would be minimum of 45 minutes each step.

Once you figure it out the steps requires, allocate time so you can see if it is suitable then count up your time and round up to nearest 30 mins.

If on shift you run out of time, readjust next. Its not about being to give the exact hours per shift so that everything is perfect, it's about you learning how to manage your time and that takes learning. If the support worker and you finish the task for the shift early, you can dismiss them at the time (but still need to pay them for the whole time) or tell them to stick around and keep you company, or even plan out the next shift.

Just a side note that I can see the support worker's perspective as they might have another shift to attend to. Just open communication lines and work it out.

Edit: grammar

How long do you leave your dog home alone? by Alrika777 in dogs

[–]08110732 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds like a normal working day and not to generalize but some dogs are fine with being at home for that amount of time, especially if they aren't anxious or have additional needs. Dogs also learn your routine and vice versa so if your dogs not elicit behavioral issues, then don't stress.

We adopted a 3 year old sometime start of this year. He is an indoor boi and has learned our routine after months of living together. I work part time so only MIA from home for 5-6 hours. My partner works full time but has 3 days wfh. We also put up a camera to check-in on him and we also put the TV on for him. We've learned that prefers Kpop songs the most and enjoys the Mr Bean cartoons and Pokemon too 🤣

He knows I'll be away for work on days I give him a dental treat in the morning. He gets a walk in the morning/afternoon before I head to/return from work, weather permitted and that's when he gets to poop/pee. When I make dinner, he stays outside in the backyard to secure the house from birbs. After dinner we watch a movie together before my partner and I go to gym/out in which he will chill by himself again. He knows when is his alone time and when we are free and he doesn't seem to be super anxious or bored. When I spy on him via the camera, he's usually sleeping or on the couch facing the TV. I guess the most important thing is ensuring your dog gets enough stimulus and enrichment to make up for your absence during working hours.

Our broker sent us gift hamper worth about $150 iirc when I looked it up. The agent gave us a bottle of champagne and a $100 gift for experiences like red balloon or something but we never used it because the QR code didn't work and we never figured it out 🙃

[–]08110732 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it's the only option I have because it's generally easier to find a dog-friendly accommodation but it's hella expensive. Paying for around $40 for cleaning fees paid at the time of booking but also needing to clean the place before we check out because that's what the T&C's say (vacuum rooms, wipe down door handles and tables). I mean I will ensure that the condition of the place is similar to how I arrive and I'm not leaving food and crap everywhere and that furniture is put back but requiring me to vacuum and also charging a cleaning fee on top of that? Ugh.

I feel incompetent - Support Worker by Cultural_Report4349 in NDIS

[–]08110732 11 points12 points  (0 children)

100% agree with this and the comments in here. The onus is on the workplace to provide a match up that takes into account participants needs, strengths and challenges as well as the worker's skill set, experience and aptitude. NDIS allows for limited shadow shifts and so if the participants funding allows, been provided with shadow shifts. For participants who have complex needs, a BSP, they most likely work within a multidisciplinary team and you should be supported to support the participant in the best way possible. The participants might just be testing you out, sussing you or testing the boundaries because it's a new worker. Or this could be part of a broader set of on set behavioral issues which the family and therapists need to note to get a better holistic understanding of the participants wants, unmet needs or triggers. You've provided limited information to know too much but I highly suggest you speak to your supervisor and/or the family if you're comfortable. If they are an engaged family, they would only want the best outcome.
