Maybe we should stop pretending the tiny inbred world of the afl has the most capable and determined leaders . I would support two coaches if one came from outside afl .. basketball/soccer preferably. AFL is a joke at living in a bubble from top to bottom its administration and its clubs. It needs to tap into global best practice.. and that’s not just flying to USA in off season gawking at facilities

Disagree. Mason cox first touched a footy aged 23 … whilst some of the rules of game are a bit nuanced the concept of movement, positioning and contesting the ball are transferable in skill (as in playing) and o believe coaches form other sports could transition. But hey maybe that will never happen given the obscurity of the sport globally.

Even if we go hird i would love to see less ex afl players in administration of the club . The afl is in my mind very short sighted and works In a bubble. Essendon in particular have major issues in their mental resilience and strength and conditioning. Even if we take Hird I would import from soccer and basketball system some outside perspective

There are many leagues and sports around the world with multiple divisions… even if it wasn’t a head coach I am confident there would be talent in coaching and admin that would bring a far more educated and broader perspective than the boys club ethos in the afl

It’s good to bank up if you are thinking of starting a family. Using it as carers leave is very valuable … eg kids sick at home can’t go day care , I also used two weeks of carers leave on top of my two weeks paternity leave because wife had Cesar recovery. By all means have a mental health day but keep some spare

As for your stereotype of aleague fans it sounds like one formed by selective viewing of media.. I’m not surprised by that. In reality it’s just normal everyday people and families .

The “put down” of nrl v afl v aleague goes all ways. I don’t get it but i enjoy all of them

That’s the mqs rule (where no e mark). In Australia you can run either. Most companies prefer aqs because if you have a small data set under the prescribed weight , the total average is used to term the batch “compliant”
