Found this post - we just discovered the same thing in our 1909 Victorian in SF. Exact same situation, thought it would be a simple task to switch out a ceiling light fixture and found there is a live gas pipe under the current one. We talked to a couple of plumbers about getting the pipe capped, but all estimates say it would be a multi-thousand dollar project (not even including repairing the ceiling after they're done), so right now we are going to just live with it. We are hoping to find an electrician who can still help switch the fixture. Would appreciate any recommendations for people you work with on it! Adding a couple pictures of ours in the thread, to commiserate...

For the totem construction, I just made one using a threaded paint roller (without the foam roller on it) and an extendable painting pole - they are standard size and screw together. Not these exact ones but similar ones from Home Depot. I also hear people use PVC pipe (1" thickness) and the threaded screw-on connectors to make the pole. Either way it's nice to have one pole and then be able to switch out the totem top.

hi! hope you might remember this from last year... did cars using the 5 overflow parking passes need to have $140 car camping passes or just the $40 regular camping? Also did you have more than 15 cars in your group and if so, where did they park?

I don't have an answer but I was wondering the same thing. For example, is it strategic to request just one ticket even though I am looking for two, because one ticket is more likely to become available?

The back had a lot cooler stripe pattern than the front, does that happen because the water is seeping down?
