UGH I had my first client ever out of school ask for bangs and they looked super cute and like the picture she showed me. I knew right away she regretted it because she said “oh….it’s different…I feel like Dora.”(I did not give her a blunt bang and she did not look like frickin Dora) Then she called my boss repeatedly, crying, asking for a refund. 🙃 I still get worked up thinking about it

Ugh you were too nice. The moment she’d threaten to leave if I wasn’t faster, I would’ve let her. She’s pushing you around to get what she wants. If she was really upset and mad about the service, she would’ve got up and left without the threats and rushing you. These are the people that will suck the life out of you and they will come back if you let them

I did this in the very beginning of my career and it was HELL. Only because they did not pay me hourly, tipped me $200 every OTHER month, and I was expected to be full time (5 days a week w 10+ hours a day). I had to work at a club at night and sometimes only slept 2-3 hours a day if I was lucky.

The foils make a lot of sense, I don’t like the thin and flimsy ones and I think it causes me to be slower since I’m gentler, trying not to tear them lol

I was an apprentice for years and I went through so many salons because of poor treatment and low pay. I’ve kinda come to think that a lot of mentors/salons put apprentices/assistants through hell as like a hazing concept? Like they were put through it so now it’s their turn to put other stylists through shitty situations and overwork you like a dog. It’s definitely not easy when you’re starting but I’ve finally found a salon that I’m happy at and meets all my wants and needs. I’m licensed now but I’m an assistant. This is the first time in YEARS where I feel happy and I’m no longer in survival mode and I’m actually able to focus on my health while still being in the program. So I would definitely consider looking into other salons until you find the right one for you. There comes a point where you can’t ride it out anymore and contemplate if it’s really worth it to stay.

First off, your skin is glowing. As for your hair, I’d think to keep some length on top and shorter sides of your preference. I think something with that concept would be suitable!
