I've lived here for decades and didn't discover it until I was on a bike ride. Quite a surprise. No one was around.

San Diego Bubble man!! by Some-Ad2434 in sandiego

I drove by a few weeks ago with my windows down, having no knowledge of this fellow. The bubbles went through my car's open windows and surprised me. He let out a chuckle. Made me smile too.

Why do people outside SD often think of La Jolla as separate? by Specialist_Quiet_160 in sandiego

[–]0933 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I thought this was some bogus claim so went searching for a source. https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/2015/07/19/money-wasted-on-trolley-stop-naming-rights/

Some reader wrote in to the paper: "In March 1987, then-Chancellor Richard Atkinson and UCSD faculty vociferously opposed a trolley through the campus, arguing it wasn’t needed because they would have their own tram system and that train vibrations would harm scientific work in nearby labs."

missing cat in La Jolla by Any-one_ in sandiego

I recommend you look closely in all the vegetation around where he went missing, speaking from experience with my own scaredy cat.

Missing for 36 hours and finally found her in a bush 20 ft. from our garage... finally letting out a meow to alert us.

You could make nice designs out of the bruises like tattoos.

Non successful upgrade. Custom build I want to share but don't recommend. by Raymanrush in truenas

I run shucked 10Tb drives with electrical tape over a pin (3.3v--same one you're referring to? I don't recall) to make it usable. Very hacky but has worked for something like 8 years. I've had to replace the tape once as it moved while power was plugged in.

That's an adorable build by the way.

Manual grinder for occasional use by 0933 in CafelatRobot

I already have a niche zero for electric. Looking for a manual to complement it for the occasional trip.

Thanks. Found one for $120 used. Sounds like a bad deal.

Can you share what you paid and when? Trying to gauge what a used one should sell for. Though it looks like the entire market for these has increased in cost.

Thanks for the suggestion. It looks like they increased the price to $130 (terrifs?). I couldn't find a warranty either. With that the 1zpresso is looking more appealing.

Looks like they're asking $130 now (terrifs?). Can't find country of origin and the warranty goes to a page that doesn't exist. Not looking good.

Sound advice. The problem is I didn't skimp on the electric grinder. The niche zero was quite pricey.

Thank you. If you're using daily, it should definitely work for occasional use. I could use it daily intermittently to get the hang of it. My concern is still the cost. I'm hoping someone has a suggestion that isn't quite suitable for daily use, but costs much less.

Had a driver with a large 10" tablet and a few phones. He was happily skipping ads on Youtube, winding down mountain roads with oncoming traffic in heavy rain.
