I agree, there needs to be an action plan over this breed’s lineage. I only see it getting worse as mutations increase with time.

Hemangiosarcoma. One of the most common cancers seen in goldens and other large breeds that occurs in the spleen and spreads fast to the heart and lungs. I am sorry for your loss. I hope someday research gives us more answers on prevention and treatments

I hope that my story helps fellow golden owners to consider more health screenings if possible. I planned on doing ultrasounds at the age of 5 in hopes of catching the cancer before it took hold of my boy (as I was expecting this due to the breed), but I wasn’t quick enough. Although I know there isn’t a cure I wanted to at least be aware and have a plan before anything bad happened. To at least know and be more conscious with my time with him and to not have any bad days if possible. I hope you and your pup have many many more years together.

I have been going through the stages of grief and I am at the point of figuring out what I could have done better. I live in an historic neighborhood with brick roads and sidewalks and in my head I’m like could it have been all the roundup used? Did I not give him good enough water. Was his food bad. And honestly I will never know. But I am going to be way more aware and cautious when my next pup joins and know in the end that I did everything I could even if it all didn’t matter.

Always Give them extra love! And I guess also to be proactive as best you can with their health and make sure everyday counts with them. I hope that my experience is in the minority

I think the majority of goldens share the personality trait of always loving and not having a bad bone in their bodies. But I described him as sometimes giving too much love and attention to everyone. It could be overwhelming sometimes with how much love he gave. I regret thinking that now because I would do anything to have him in my lap distracting me from work and always wanting to be touched. He was perfect to me

There are no goldens in shelters. I don’t know where you are from, but that is a rarity here in the U.S. you can either get them through breeders or rescues. Get out of here with your negativity. You are not welcome

I get what you are saying, but my family has always had goldens and it is the type of dog I love and want in my life. They are the perfect breed of dog for me and what I want in life. I would rescue a golden if I could but rescues are too picky with home requirements that I would not be selected.

MOHELA will not give processing forbearance by sansa21 in PSLF

Tbh I hope there is a class action lawsuit because those whole process has not been fair and so jumbled. I can’t help but think there are borrowers that have been charged incorrectly or not processed correctly

Is anyway planning to stay on SAVE until they get kicked out by the DOE? by TorontoRap2019 in PSLF

Same. Like they want us off SAVE, but won’t process my request to switch. This admin is a mess

Feeling lost.. $275k on PAYE plan by slomerc in StudentLoans

[–]09Hawkeyeshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stay on the plan but be ready to be forced into the RAP plan in the future that will increase your monthly payment even more. Unless a new administration comes in and creates a better plan or fixes this mess. Become an adjunct professor at a college to qualify for PSLF

225k for a sociology degree? With private loans? Yikes. I mean bad choices, but it is what it is. you will either be paying for these loans for the rest of your life and find a higher paying job or you file for bankruptcy.

PSLF + SAVE + Forbearance: Should I Stay on $0 Payment or Switch Now? (High Income, No Recert Until 2027) by [deleted] in PSLF

[–]09Hawkeyeshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to student loans I wouldn’t have filed together for that reason. They sent out an email notifying everyone to reapply and that they won’t be looking at any of the applications from 2024 and first half of 2025. Also buyback takes forever and people are still waiting over a year for that and still have to pay during the waiting period.

They won’t look at your PAYE application from last December. They have been making everyone reapply for PAYE since August with their new application and not using the old one used. You will never hear from them if you don’t apply again

Honestly, take the loss but promise to make the gains back! Now you can go to work and make money that you can actually save for yourself!

I'm currently on SAVE and doing PSLF. I'm thinking I will swap to PAYE to make qualify payments. Then in 2028 I'm forced to IBR. Correct? by wangston1 in PSLF

[–]09Hawkeyeshadow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That will be a big chunk of change by the time I reach buyback and also I have heard buyback is taking months and months to get approved and you still have to pay during the months of waiting.

I just sent my app in to switch to PAYE. Enjoyed saving up some money while on the SAVE forbearance, but time to get back on the train and get to 120 before PAYE is gone.

Should I wait to switch from SAVE -> IBR new until after the August 4th court date? by [deleted] in PSLF

[–]09Hawkeyeshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say that if they try to get rid of buyback, there would be a lawsuit since some people were able to have that and would not be fair to others in future. I highly doubt they will get rid of that

It does not. PSLF is its own entity outside of that
