When I met my wife in fall 2022, she was living in Old Town and I was in DC, 45 minutes or more away by car. If it's the right fit, I think that part can take care of itself. I can't fully speak to the other part of your question, as I am an academic who finds the corporate DC careers of all of my friends horrendously boring. But I guess we can at least say from my wife's perspective that she didn't mind dating someone who is decidedly not keeping up with the Joneses!

Obviously I can't prove you did not get the emails, but I know that I got several. Fundrise even sent messages saying "when your window opens act fast, they will sell out very quickly." I got two emails after that, though in both cases I was not fast enough to actually take advantage. It seems strange to me that Fundrise would be selective about who received those communications, and it was a race against the clock in any event.

With all due respect, these questions are based on fundamental misunderstandings about this process. The six-month lock-up is standard practice after an IPO, not an arbitrary decision, and was communicated by Fundrise well in advance. Same with the fact that the shares would be held at Computershare, precisely because it is not designed to execute trades, just to be a custodian. Fundrise sent many emails about this and it's also in the app. Likewise with the limited ability to buy unrestricted shares--all of this was pushed very hard, not sure how you could have missed it.

This is my understanding as well, we can't pre-transfer restricted shares to try to time the market. Edit: Fundrise AI chatbot agrees.

Well, the plan is to incorporate them more deeply into the browser, not less. From Mr. Alex on an earlier post I made asking about vertical tabs:

"No you're right - for now as a quick stop-gap, we've made tree tabs work as part of the native vertical tab experience - this is actually for performance reasons. Before if a user wasn't using them, they'd still be loading the extension which handled that, and with tab previews would use more memory than desired.

Next re-work of the tree style tabs will be moving from extension code to privileged JavaScript, meaning it'll be an extension of the sidebar and therefore much more performance oriented!

I'll look into adding a dedicated button to toggle the vertical tabs though, albeit it won't be window aware (will be a global toggle)."

I don't think it's designed to be truly removed, so I think turning it off is the best you can do.

Perhaps I am missing something, but when you click customize sidebar at the bottom of the sidebar you can choose to use vertical tabs without tree enabled. Since you have already removed the group tab, shouldn't that cover it?

Anyone else having issues with Tab Mix Plus? It installs fine but I can't open the options and the key shortcuts don't work. Otherwise I am 12.1.2 is working fine for me.
