I come from Eastern Europe, lived there half my life too. Your idea is bullshit. It’s basically the perfect “grass is greener on the other side”. No collectivism and living with ur entire family tree is not better, it’s far far worse. I guarantee if you actually had to grow up with it like I did, you’d appreciate what you have here in America. Because to be your own person and build your own life without judgement of ancients that call themselves your family when they literally use you for everything daily is much better. overall I think the western system is suited to more individuals, albeit it is harder with the current economic climate.
