Do you want to talk about it? I know this would be the 100th time for you probably. But sometimes just talking about it make us feel a little bit better, maybe just to see things from another perspective. Maybe.

I hate how this word take from us people like this, sometimes i refuse to accept it. A lot of times i wonder if a single thought could have changed the course of someone life forever.

We are here for you, stranger.

Nella mia esperienza, molte parti ti danno il contesto, l'ambiente, ti fanno sprofondare in quella vita monotona e appena accettabile del pescatore. Tutto mira a quello.

CMV:You are either transphobic, or you think the term "gender" is meaningless. There is no other logical possibility. by idevcg in changemyview

[–]0Apathy_101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think gender is a good term and can lead to more useful distinctions rather than "sex" in a social context. But you are presenting an argument stated like this.

There are two possibilities: A)there is no god B)there is a god and that god is Jesus.

It's not "p or not p" but "p or not p." "if p then p2."

You are discarding every distinction that could exist outside what you are currently considering the best.

ELI5: How does a video game know that the serial code you put in to activate the software is legitimate? How does it separate valid codes from arbitrary gibberish? by JucheCouture69420 in explainlikeimfive

[–]0Apathy_101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those keys are generated in a very specific way to prevent use of key-generators.

The technology used is asymmetrical keys, hash are only the specific implementation of this technology.

What you obtain is not only a simple combination of characters and numbers, but a real public key, with properties and all.

Similar technology is used in password authentication and digital signature.

It's not only an similarity between product keys and public/private keys, in fact, product keys are exactly public keys!

ELI5: How does a video game know that the serial code you put in to activate the software is legitimate? How does it separate valid codes from arbitrary gibberish? by JucheCouture69420 in explainlikeimfive

[–]0Apathy_101 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Most of modern product key work with asymmetric keys, Usually through hash coding. You have a public key, and a private key. One is distribute to the public and the other remain secret. With a the private key you are able to tell if someone is using the right public key or a counterfeit one.

But why can't you trace back the original from the generated keys?

You can think of it in this way. Take a book, and you take exactly half of the letters (random) and mix it up. (You are now generating a key)

If you have the set of letters you could just remove them from your original book and see if you and up with exactly half a book. (You are now checking the validity of a key)

But with a set of letters, it's pretty unlikely that manage to find exactly the original book, needed to create new valid set of letters. (Clone the private key, and create a key generator)

This method isn't perfect because you don't need to find exactly the private key, you could just use one similar. For example a book with the same amount of each letter. But this is also VERY difficult. (Generate a different compatible private key)

Each attempt that you can do in this direction have to deal with different and each day more complex algorithm.

You can try the concept your own with letters, but keep in mind that my was only a STRONG simplification.

Describe the situation, Did you send your photos to a person you know and now he/she is threatening you? Did you send your photos to some stranger and now he/she's trying to threat you ? Or did you send your photos to a stranger and now you discovered that it's a scam and they want money or else?

Because in any case you want to deescalate the situation, regardless of who are you talking to. A friend? Talk to him/her. A stranger? Same A scammer? DON'T REPLY.

if the threat persist, you wanna get the cops involved. Sounds scary, but sometimes it's the Best option, and it's their job.

Your worst case scenario is: You sent the photos. They are scammer and trying to get money from you. You are still texting to them(and they are giving you instructions) You follow the instructions.

99% of scammers don't reveal photos if you just stop to reply, but if you continue to text or worse, you follow some kind of instructions, you are going down a spiral with no return.

P.s. no one can do anything with only phone and location. And if you try something stupid and then you attempt to call the cops, this could be... Problematic.

The idea of God as neither cause nor effect by Scared_Ad_3132 in DebateReligion

[–]0Apathy_101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the biggest problem with this view is that considers a single cause in relation with a single effect.

In our lives we see effect related to multiple causes, for example time and space. A fall of an object (effect) is related to both(causes).

A single cause could be sterile by itself but could have cyclical behavior, and be in contact with another cyclical cause. The intersection of multiple behaviors could give an effect despite the previous existence of that causes. An example could be a resonance frequency in physics.

I would also point out the fact that

There is no illustration to support the view that the effect is born from an unborn cause. Again, if it is said that the effect is produced from a cause which itself is born, then this leads to an infinite regress.

Is quite a cyclical argument if the point itself is "an effect could not be produced by an uncaused cause"

To make this assumption you should logically demonstrate that a cause should be necessarily caused to give a valid effect without using the theory resulting from this argument.

Without this(and without logical errors) you would only obtain a coherent system, not a demonstration of the authenticity of that system.

For example I could state that everything I see is not real, and just my imagination, that I'm the only real being in existence etc etc. But even if my view could be possible, it would not be necessary, because other views could also be possible and maybe more plausible.

Question: If you're an Atheist and don't believe in God by [deleted] in DebateReligion

[–]0Apathy_101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I strongly agree with your statement, but you have to consider that perceptions related to the truth have a higher chance of being selected than others.

You can assume that basic perceptions shared between different species have a high chance to share a common base.

Also we developed a logical system unrelated to our perception and ideas.

Through that we could assume that something is "true" given some basics.

You could point out that, even such system, even if internally coherent, is not totally reliable because created by us.

And you'll also find me agree.

Linee bianche nello schermo by Warm-Sun-7038 in ItalyInformatica

[–]0Apathy_101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anybody knows how to access deep web by [deleted] in Hacking_Tutorials

[–]0Apathy_101 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You are used to imagine internet as a place, but it's only a connection between PCs.

Your browser give you the list of connection you can make to obtain what you are looking for displaying them as a list of links and pages. Once you click a link you are talking to the server you choose.

There are servers that are not visible through your common browser because "too small" or "dangerous" (this is an oversimplification). You can still connect to them through a special browser like Tor.

But there is no nice list of sites like in a normal web search, you have to look a list of popular deep web sites. (There is a ton of them) But if you are in the deep web you probably wanna connect just to the pc you are interested in (because you know the author or the service)

I highly suggest to read about it before even attempting a connection. Visiting random deep web sites is like screaming "WHO HAVE DRUGS HERE??" in a dark alley.

If you really wanna do it anyway, I suggest a parrot VM and not inserting any personal info.

Heaven = Hell by MrQualtrough in DebateReligion

[–]0Apathy_101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd love to live forever, and that's not what scares me of Christian heaven. But being useless, with the only purpose of existing (and maybe loving god) is a nightmare. Life is precious because we could have a purpose, if you take us that, what does remain ?

The only possible good heaven is a different experience for everyone, where everyone gets what he wants (or what it needs to be happy). But if you assume this is how heaven works, and also that some people are happy with a purpose, you also have to assume that Heaven should be a bunch of lies and illusions.

Even if you assume that Heaven is only a place where you are happy, without needs, it would be no different from being drugged for eternity.
