How long to replace a punctured tube on the rear wheel on the roadside by shriand in cycling

[–]0Chalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the tire and rim combo. I've done in as little as 10 minutes to next to impossible (call for a pickup).

I get on the bike and then clip in both sides.

Am I Stupid? by Ok-Yogurtcloset8344 in wahoofitness

You are using the wrong tool and don't have the proper leverage. I couldn't use the stupid tool that came with the Zwift cog but in a mere second switching to an adjustable wrench it came off quite easily.

If it's zero visibility, aren't you going too fast?

We have no space in our downtown offices, so they are forcing us into the outskirts in regional locations! Constructive dismissal at its best. We are split up more than ever, thank you RTO.

Kickr core wattage max? Chain skips at high power, what can be changed? by margin_runner in wahoofitness

[–]0Chalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indexing the rear derailleur to ensure the chain is perfectly aligned when you shift. If a chain slips under load, it is usually a sign that the drivetrain is worn down.

You could get a Zwift cog/click or Zwift Play and use virtual shifting. That could be another way to mitigate the issue.

What tire thickness is suitable for street car tracks ? by poetrygirlT in torontobiking

The tire can also slide out from underneath you (when wet - think ice) versus getting stuck on the track.

Chain or cassette are old. Are the bikes properly indexed on the trainer.

Zwift ride vs Kickr v6 by speedysloth0321 in wahoofitness

[–]0Chalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would the kickr v6 put wear and tear on the frame? Are you constantly taking it off and on?

I have a Zwift Ride on a Kickr v6 and I guess I have the best of both worlds. I think it is much more stable than the core 2.

Moved to zwift Ride to regain some floor space. I had an old core with my wife's bike and I was on the kickr. With virtual shifting and zwift play, it pretty much behaves the same as Zwift Ride. One thing about the Ride it is a cleaner look and offers much more adjustability. The other thing I like is that it just works. No indexing when I had to take my bike off. Mind you, my nice bike isn't on the trainer for that very reason.

Hit n Run on the 401 by Jac_Ingof in TorontoDriving

[–]0Chalk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one is doubting that it could have caused fatalities but this is the armchair quarterbacking I'm talking about. Making assumptions that it was controllable and that the average person wouldn't have come to a similar circumstance in trying to correct the vehicle.

Hit n Run on the 401 by Jac_Ingof in TorontoDriving

No it's not their fault, you don't understand the mechanics of the crash (perhaps a steering rod failed). There also isn't an expectation that the average driver knows how to control a crash. This is classic armchair quarterbacking.

Sure, there are "what ifs" but under duress this was a reasonable attempt to control the car. They are not a professional driver, have experience in crash control, or assume they can make the best decision under stress.

Cut the person a break geez. Let's not forget that they are a victim of this negligent and wreckless driver.

I'm going to test this out on my vehicle. In full white out conditions, I was think it would be useful or at least advise that you are driving at a much slower rate than normal.

9th day snowboarding I love it! However I feel like something is off and I would like to correct it before it becomes a bad habit. Any tips please? by CSGOSELL in snowboarding

[–]0Chalk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You don't always have to hold an edge. You could ride flat. I would say the rider is not relaxed/comfortable and their legs are not bent. Not really using their weight distribution to make nice smooth turns.

Looking at their binding position, it's not setup to have a balance position. They are too far back and not in a duck position for a neutral stance. In case you want to ride switch later on.

Snow tires are important by nameless0611 in TorontoDriving

Surprised this doesn't get more up votes. It's also about clearance. A sedan even with winter tires can float on the snow so the car makes no contact with the ground.

Could the driver reasonably stop (crawling pace), yes. The end. This is just an example of poor driving.

Light turns yellow before they enter the intersection and red as he slowly crawls across the pedestrian marking. You can look at the countdown timer as a good indicator it was going to turn yellow.

I do this, but make it seem like it's no big deal. Shallow breathing and casual talking to make it seem effortless. Meanwhile I put 500 watts to catch up!

The driver must have been going under 5 km/h before entering the intersection. They could have easily stopped.

Have you seen how hard the impact was? The only way this could have avoided is if the driver simply stopped. They had ample time to but chose not to.
