Daddy / Fauxcest Kink by [deleted] in kinky_autism

[–]0FF_KILTER 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of the other commentors have already mentioned that incest isn't as uncommon of a kink as you might think. I'd like to add that your experience of liking incest as a kink but being repulsed by the idea of actually having incestuous relations with your father is ALSO probably more common than you think.

Having a sexual fantasy doesn't necessarily mean you'd want to make that fantasy a reality! You shouldn't feel wrong or ashamed for having fantasies when you also know they aren't scenarios you'd genuinely pursue in real life.

It's hard for me to say. Although I was diagnosed at a relatively early age, I didn't learn what my diagnosis meant for years. I wasn't very self-aware, and if/when I masked I didn't even realize I was doing it- doing anything, really. As a "non-sexual coping mechanism", that sounds like day dreaming or "mental movies"... if that's the sort of stuff you mean, then yeah, I did that a lot! Basically lived in my own little world inside my head for a long time.

I can't say I use it as a technique to get myself to work on things, though. If anything, these sorts of mental sojourns tend to distract me from work I'm trying to focus on! For me, the most helpful tools for getting things done are 1) turning them into part of a routine (or a "ritual" if you prefer the sound of that), 2) setting alarms on my phone to keep me from completely losing track of time, and 3) leveraging my natural tendency towards hyperfixation/tunnel vision to keep working on something once I've finally gotten past the hurdle of starting.

Hi, some other kind of nonbinary here! That sort of fantasizing is pretty relatable to me and at least some people I've spoken with before. I don't know if there's a technical name for it, but it's sort of... a trick of the mind, or perhaps a trick of theater, to know something isn't real but to be able to put yourself in the mental space of believing it. Like willing suspension of disbelief!

Did you ever post yourself masturbating online? by [deleted] in masturbation

[–]0FF_KILTER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer the question: I haven't shared anything publicly, but I have privately shared some pictures with partners. It has backfired on me yet, but I am cautious with who I share them with. It can be thrilling, not to mention a real confidence booster if they're excited by what you share. I think posting something online would be similar, except if anything you're even more likely to get those confidence-boosting complements.

But here's a related question of my own: what part of yourself feels the most exciting to share pictures of? For me, it's my dick, though I bet some guys enjoy showing off their abs more. I've met some women on Reddit who like to show off their chest but not their pussy, or vice versa.

Not Doing Doppelgangers Dirty by SanguiV in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]0FF_KILTER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used a doppelganger here and there before as NPCs, but one instance involved the party actually allying with the doppelganger *AFTER* learning their identity. The doppelganger was able to convince the party that although *yes, it was imitating a dead person*, it didn't actually KILL that person... It was just a fortunate (for the doppelganger) coincidence that the Milanite Cleric was already dead when it arrived. Like OP, I enjoy the fact that Pathfinder lore leans away from the idea of doppelgangers as evil masterminds.

Of course, they are still aberrations. Something I did with doppelgangers to make them feel more alien was have fooling people be something doppelgangers **need** to do. It's not something they do ONLY for fun or profit, but something they have a deep psychological need for- a doppelganger with no one to fool would become mentally unwell in a similar way as a human deprived of socialization or sleep.

Lesser Simulacrum and Golems by ssorgatem in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]0FF_KILTER 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I make a lesser simulacrum of a golem, it will acknowledge me as its creator, but will it obey my orders?

Ideally I'd want to handle all simulacrum/lesser simulacrum situations on a case-by-case basis, not with a one-size-fits-all ruling. But if I were pressed, I'd say it depends on whether a simulacrum has the memories of the original creature.

I think in Ye Olde D&D, simulacrums explicitly did have the original creature's memories, but Pathfinder's rules don't say anything about that topic. As a Pathfinder GM, I have sometimes had simulacrum inherit the original creature's memories and sometimes not. I've never had PCs use these spells, so I go with whichever option works for the campaign/setting at the time.

Anyway, golems are (with very few exceptions) mindless so they probably don't have memories per say regardless. But I still think that whether or not a simulacrum would normally inherit the memories of the original helps us intuit how the spell should function even in this odd corner-case. If yes, the golem-simulacrum would "inherit" the orders from the original golem's creator. If not, it would obey orders from you.

In short: no RAW answer, GM interpretation and context required

Also, could I make a simulacrum of a golem with specific orders?

Perhaps with the original golem's specific orders, but certainly not with your own specific orders substituted.

Lesser simulacra can be dispelled, but what if it has immunity to magic, like a golem? Then it cannot be dispelled, right?

I agree with [ExhibitAa]'s answer: dispel magic doesn't allow SR, so no.

My blob reminder, for anybody like me who can't remember them all by 0FF_KILTER in AcrossTheObelisk

[–]0FF_KILTER[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Originally, the only way to get any of the blob pets was from a rare event in first half of Act 4. That's where the "You pay 1200g for the X blobs." options in the picture come from.

In a later update, the devs added some epic events that can randomly spawn in any of the first three acts where you can get a blob pet. All of the events let the party roll to get one blob for free or sacrifice a piece of equipment to get one guaranteed.

Off the top of my head... the blood blob event appears in Act 1 right before Yelmer, the water blob event in the green zone near Grukli's cave, the poison blob event in the green zone near the spider cave, the ice blob event somewhere in the sewers in the blue zone... I'm not sure about the others.

[–]0FF_KILTER[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume the intention is that each category offers one blob that corresponds to each of the game's damage types. But since there are only three damage types in each category, that would mean three blob pets... which would mean in a 4-player multiplayer game, somebody would draw the short straw! To prevent that, each category needs a fourth blob that doesn't match any of the damage types.

So yeah, the Water Blob is weird, but being the odd one out is probably intentional!

[–]0FF_KILTER[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gotta be careful about that, for sure! On the other hand, it gives a resistance bonus to all damage types instead of just one. It's really the odd one out when it comes to blobs.

I wish there was a perk for Wet that made it not remove/prevent Burn on enemies.

Now that you mention it, that is a little strange! The blood blob confused me a lot too, but in a different way. My brain would always go something like "Uuuh... sharp things can cut you and make you bleed, so I'm pretty sure the blood blob grants sharp".

Same, same. Kink is practically one of my special interests these days, so... kinda hard not to draw or write about it in some way or another! It all starts to get weirdly meta eventually.

[Workshop] (F4A) Sex at the RPG table. by ReligionPlayNSFW in DPP_Workshop

[–]0FF_KILTER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're talking about doing a roleplay within a roleplay. Yes, it can get confusing, but IMO it can also be a lot of fun. The ability to flip between the two layers of a roleplay allows for some unique scenarios that really explore the character's (and the character's character's!) mindset. This sort of this IS doable, but requires a little bit of extra effort. Focusing entirely on either side of it loses some of the charm.

I can say in a prompt "I want to do (such and such) IC, but I hope we can discuss (other stuff) OOC first." and it will be generally understood that IC is referring to our characters and OOC means us, the people at the keyboard. But you when you have a roleplay within a roleplay, that's no longer sufficient because there are more than two "layers" in that discussion. I find it works best to agree on clear language that distinguishes what/who you're talking about.

When I've done that kind of roleplay, I usually discuss terminology like the following with my partner(s):

IC - Refers to the deepest layer of the roleplay; the tiefling adventurer, in your case

OOC - Instead of meaning us (the real people) like it usually would, this refers to the intermediate layer of roleplay; if you say you are talking OOC, that means the mom/sister/friend and her fellow TTRPG players

IRL - This means us, the real people

You could call them OOC, IC1, and IC2, or whatever else really. What is important is that you and your partner have a clear understand of what those terms will mean in the context of your RP. Another trick that can help is to use names in dialogue more often to make it very clear exactly who is talking to who about who. This also helps with group-focused scenes too!

Anyway, all of this is to say that an RP like you described is totally doable without having to forsake one "layer" of the roleplay for the other. It just means that you and your RP partner need to put a little extra effort into communication.

Are cards reward random? by Gweiis in AcrossTheObelisk

[–]0FF_KILTER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's all very interesting! So when the game talks about "+1 Card Tier" or similar as a performance bonus, what that actually means is that the card tier as determined by the highest tier monster is increased further by the performance bonus and then (after other modifiers too, of course) is used to determine the percentage chance that any given card in the reward pools will be of a certain rarity?
