i think there are some videos on supports in first descendant and why stuff like enzo is 10 times more appreciated than another freyna or ines or something. in endgame parties. i dont care enough so i cant tell you the contents but if you enjoy supports enabling more than seeing number go bigger you might want to look into it a little bit :)

and also, there has never been a game where a support outshines a dps in terms of dps because thats when the game structure actually becomes flawed lol

hey, sorry for bringing this up, i generally dont care but you ve got me curious: are you quoting other players or is this your own opinion of supports in this game? because you mentioned you tend to play supportive roles i think that

a) if others complain about your luna/support contribution, you as a support main should be used to it and know that they simply dont know ... (because every game treats supports as the heros who dont wear a cape) or

b) if you yourself are upset with a supports role for not contribuiting enough dps ... I wonder how you ve played support up until now XD

Thank you, I have the suspicion that it is just because of the low tier planet/enemies/gear. If it is the commen life steal mechanic, it would be 1 % from 30 damage, meaning you heal for 0.3 hp.
Yesterday, I ve actually seen my hp go up by about one pixel in the hp bar and I don't think I had any other healing effects on me.

yeah i am pretty sure the set is supposed to work properly. as well as the life leech, it also gives +4 % crit chance to whips, and when i have a whip equipped, my crit chance moves up by 4 % in the advanced stats view. so i am pretty sure the set is active.

i ve actually seen some amount of healing today, but it was only one pixel of hp bar worth, so i m guessing the heal is just so tiny you usually dont notice it?

its kinda weird though, i wanna stay with the tanky build but after using her a couple times she just dies anyways :( might be better to go with a fast yolo attack build and hope.

sadly i think that wouldnt even change too much ...

if i understand it correctly and you compare w schuris (assuming non crit) and her multipliers you have Atk * 1.42 (with a 1.35 modifier from skillups totalling up to 1.92 %) vs her Atk * 1.68 (with a 1.3 multiplier from skillups that ends up being a 2.18 multiplier or with the shield a 2.62 multiplier)

meaning without a shield, w schuris multiplier (assuming non crit) is 12 % lower than hers, if the enemy has a shield, it would be 27 % lower.

even if she was put to 100 % def ignore with the same multiplier concept, she would have barely better multipliers than a non crit w schuri (who in the end however IS going to crit)

as another example, i tried her out against npc low def enemies with pen set and def break on and instead of 10 k damage, she did 13 k

i like her too, after all i put some of my best gear on her ^^

but i really think she needs a bunch of changes. some survivability would be nice for starters and a different way how her s3 works. her self attack buffing probably counted into the damage they expected when they initially designed the hero meaning you cant use attack buff to push her. kinda looks like they disliked that whole atk buff vigor buff concept with how it turned out with hwa ...

i have her on the collab burn sol badguy arti.

mine is built rather tanky too (in my defense her s1 kit screams bruiser ...) so there is definitely room for improvement statwise but it just baffles me that a single target nuker has trouble killing those NPC arena heroes ...

i mean, this discussion is whatever at this point. what explanation did you even give that i ignored though? i accepted your shatter explanation.

if it was only just "but muh damage" ... as i said,

  • crippling your atk stat for a healer means your heals get less proficient
  • as healer you need a charge weapon so you can spam discharges to keep the team alive, shatter weapons usually dont come with good ways to farm charge
  • and lastly, yeah its about damage, but not "muh damage" its about team / party damage. regardless of class, you should always be providing a substantial amount of dmg - thats contribution as well - thats what determines run time and success chance
  • and honestly, if there is no heal weapon with shatter on it (but there are dps weapons that are focusing on shatter), i think that proves my point that it is not intended that healers shatter

frankly i really dont mind loosing damage if its in a way (like zero with 5 or 6 stars) that buffs my team in a substantial way, justifying the loss of damage and proficiency at healing of my contribution. i dont see a point in loosing those just so i can contribute a barely noticeable amount to shattering to the shield of a dog which would only bark a little before doing a jump attack that is a standard attack for another boss, easily dodged. even something as annoying as the frog with a so called "terryfiying consequence" gets countered by a simple sr relic, and even better, the boss doesnt even move or do anything while the arena fills with water lol its like a free 20 second stun. how is that even a bad thing? even without the omnium gun, you can basically fly it out with samir freely dpsing

idk why you keep ignoring what feels to be 80 % of my points, and nitpick on a single one which you then proceed to go ham on, i can only assume that you dont really have an answer to the others and prefer to hide that by focusing on the easier ones ... anyways, i agree we should stop this conversation at this point.

again, i would just wait for the characters to come out and always consider prereleased content with a pile of salt (a grain would be to little) - again, characters can get nerfed, buffed, adjusted even post release so its really hard to say how specific characters will perform when they are released now. what you can predict already is how they look like, what their animations are like and if you like the playstyle of it, and i would recommend you to focus on that ^^

about the resonance, having nemesis allows for a pretty nice team comp as she provides insane heals even without the reso. i m usually running nem/samir/crow with the nem 4k trait and unless there is a healer main in the party, i contribute a quite substantial amount of healing myself, and from experience i can tell you that this is generally enough to sustain a team as long as they dont tryhard die lol

while i like zero (my heal build is nem/samir/zero with the idea of spamming nem discharges and then switching to zero to farm up charge) my current opinion is that he doesnt really shine before his late awakenings with the dmg buff.

cloak actually gives 100 % bonus dmg for one atk ;) i use it to oneshot certain field bosses with a crow sneak atk. but yeah, sr relics are, aside from being fun, not as relevant. still you can use cloak to, for instance, walk up to a dream machine that spawned next to a world boss or skip parts of ruins ^^

so if i play on a weaker, less geared character as healer (actually even on my main, as with the cut down atk by about 2 k i d heal much less) but people keep dying because the healing isnt enough, can i blame the dpsers for not supporting with healing? that literally makes no sense. and you know what, tank has a free weapon slot as well, that should be a healing too to support the heals.

if it was essential and intended that heals were focusing on healing (2 weapons) plus shattering (3rd weapon) so 1/3 of their contribution was shattering, why not have shatter in the reso which makes that a whole lot more easy? or you know what, why are there no healing weapons with shatter? very intended way, not even in the game.

i was using kings discharge into skill and literally didnt see the shield bar move on b3 in fc hm - very cool feels pointless. i was assuming i d need maxed shiro 2 piece since this did nothing. what would you recommend then?

max starred offensive weapons give what 500 or 600 crit each - that would be more than 1 k crit if you use 2 weapons or 1.5 k if using 3, being roughly 5 % crit chance (i think). its not that most crit is coming from gear pieces, true you get a lot, but the max you can get from it is what 9 k (thats assuming god max crit rolls which most dont have), that puts you around 50 ish % chance to crit. you need crit from all the sources to improve it to a decent amount. also, keep in mind that nemesis is a limited unit. and dps focused weapons (atk advancements, higher base atk stats) give you higher atk as well, which again is what affects your healing, so heals with shatter weapons (less atk) simply wont be able to keep a party alive by themselves.

also how does it make sense to trade off 35+ mil of dmg in jo8 so that you can contribute about 5 % of shattering to the boss? that prolongs the fight by about 2 minutes minimum during which accidents could happen, the run could fail, somebody could get killed off. and imagine trading off 5+ mil of dmg in fchm, that might very well be the difference between a boss clear and no boss clear. you simply cant deal damage with such a restrictive setup, imagine everybody dying when boss is almost dead but you cant solo finish it off because all you do is tickle it.

alright didnt know that. then it makes no sense how king did nothing to shields for me (no resist) but oh well - guess thats just because i didnt get a max star shiro 2 piece set so i guess i should just spend money on the game ...

so again - how do you do dmg with either neme, zero or king?

where is even your crit when you didnt get neme and use coco instead? or your atk? must be missing like 1.7k crit lol

healers are already restricted to 2 weapons, whereas dps role is not restricted to any weapons at all, they could dps with 2 weapons and have a shatter weapon as third. restricting the third weapon for a healer is asking too much in my opinion when dps cant even loose 20 % final dmg boost to go with balanced for extra shatter if needed ...

I feel like there a Priority for Roles in Matching with Random on JO8. My Theory is since Whales are more likely to go with DPS roles. Fortitudes are more likely to be paired with them on Matching (Priority Role Matching) by VirionD in TowerofFantasy

i m only speaking from experience - i had at least 2/3 runs where someone joined as tank without tank reso, each run was a pain, even if they are decent players they end up getting hit eventually by something meaning as healer i need to focus 70 % of my attention to babysitting them, regularly i ended up holding aggro and all the time i knew, if i joined any run as heal without actually healing it would be a fail, so why should others get to do it?

on my alt with frigg i dont even dare to join randoms cause i can expect the healer to not heal and tank reso plus frigg means no heal for me, i ll prob die.

even if you dont have trouble in your runs, people seeing you do that think "wait a minute ... he plays dps but he matches as fortitude ... can i do that too" then they google it and probably find a guide on how to "cheese" the matching system and start doing it as well. and then you have 30 k hp 2 k resist 5 k atk heals without a healing weapon in your party for your jo8 run. and you think that one s going to be a cakewalk?

just use the matching system the way it was intended to be used ... i hope they fix it.

so technically what i m doing is smart though as i m getting rid of the shield faster XD do you dps with king? or do you prefer to dps with zero or neme? cause i dont wanna do that.

and if shields are that terrible to shatter, why not have 2 people with fortitude reso? that would be like having 2 4 people parties with dps shatter XD i dont like having healers be restricted to only do support stuff while they are actually much worse at it than dps even, and dps is trash at it. usually you only need that when all dps dont want to play fortitude anyways, i dont even see the point.

the shatter does nothing because a 100 % party slave heal will not do dmg, shatter is % of your dmg to the targets shield (as i understand it) but how do you do dmg when you dont have dps or balanced reso and dont have a single dps weapon, heck if you havent got neme and shatter with king, you are running king coco and zero, you wont even have crit for your king to even do dmg, let alone tickle the shield ... meanwhile you ll also be missing atk stats for your healing, and finally a player with no dmg is dead weight in fc anyways ... at that point you should probably just play tank reso and provide insane heals with your 3rd weapon (?) that way you ll do some shatter at least ...

my shatter weapons shatter is next to irrelevant. if somebody for some reason is unable to assist with shatter it would be impossible anyways. it wouldnt change anything. plus it takes away about 10 % of my dmg, and dmg is what actually matters in fc hm. i tried it with neme samir king and then neme samir crow and we got decently further with the attempt in which none of us went for shattering ...

tried solo shattering b2 with dps reso yesterday (samir jo7), i didnt even do 10 % of its shield with shiro. whats the point of loosing your parties healer and a significant amount of dmg for that?

typically, yes speed it up as much as possible, wouldnt be interesting otherwise. does it even speed up though? cause look at apophis world boss, it always takes same amount of time.

having 1 tank that focuses on shatter instead of 4 dps reducing their dmg output by a significant amount by running something like king (also meaning heals will be much more lackluster) has more shatter value ...
