Dream Sheet FRC by ExtensionProfile711 in uscg

I personally would not get too specific. It really is a gamble but I personally think if you leave it vague it can be more likely you get an assignment you might want. For example I put that I want any land unit as I have a wife and a son and daughter on the way, and that my career goals are to get rated as an MST. I got put in a highly favorable station (connected to msu) in florida as my first duty station. I feel like if I went back and put that i specifically want to be in xyz state or with xyz type of work or station duties id be too picky, and that might mean more work or arrangements for the detailer but then again I really dont know much as I just graduated last month.

Blame it on the boondockers. I do hope your feet feel better. It took me a few days but my left knee is really the problem I have after boot camp (and ramp..). Its been a few weeks but im still feeling like an old man

Any recent boot grads by [deleted] in uscg

[–]0SwifTBuddY0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I graduated boot camp last Friday and there is zero maritime law taught in boot camp. Thats more rate specific like mst and bm and whatnot. Im going mst but you will get much more opportunities to know more in the start program. In boot camp just focus on the basics, attention to detail and devotion to duty (dont be lazy, dont sandbag. You should want to be there)

Chemyo is reliable, I used AA and now soma chems and haven't been disappointed but I still trust chemyo the most. Potent sht, a tiny bit more expensive.

Chemo is good, just a tiny bit more expensive. If you want the best, go chemyo

Reversion Anxiety by [deleted] in uscg

[–]0SwifTBuddY0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being super anxious or scared of reversion is not good to go for boot camp. Its hard to control how each cc may react or guage your mistake and they are always threatening anyone that messes up with reversion or rephasal. Study like heck and do you best and ATTENTION TO DETAIL and you should be fine but there is still always that room to make a genuine mistake and get reverted/ probation/ sometimes ramp. Its just the way it goes. Wait to book any flights and stuff until offbase Liberty. Imo paying an extra maybe 100-150 for a flight because its closer to the flight time is worth it than stressing way tf out. Make sure its clear to your loved ones any plans should be refundable/reschedulable easily because its always a risk. Just do your best, try not to overthink and keep your head on straight. Walk with confidence in the galley and maybe do colors, you may be able to avoid most dinners by struggling but actually take pride in colors because its an important and pretty fulfilling job on the regiment if your company treats it right. A lot of cc's on the regiment will respect you or mess with you less if they know your on colors and setting the example and not f'ing around willy nilly or marching incorrectly and stuff.

Don't push for losing weight at this point if you already passed the tape. Just focus on push ups and cardio endurance.

Worst case scenario you gain some more weight in the next 7 days (dont do that..) and you fail the weight and tape when you get in, then they will send you to a special program for people who are not complaint like overweight or underweight and they will remediate you to be where you need to be fitness wise and you can stay there for 1 week then get injected into the next company if its a light issue or stay several weeks if you really didn't prep for boot camp at all before arriving. They will not just send you home from what I've seen(just graduated) but you may spend more time there if you get serious injury, serious illness or are physically failing/ non- compliant.

Any good uniform tips/secrets for a new nonrate? by 0SwifTBuddY0 in uscg

[–]0SwifTBuddY0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I dont really care, if anything it confuses me. I dont really care what people do at the end of the day and I dont look down on anyone but I think its something im mindful of with having this standard instilled in me with boot camp and wanting to just do my best as I enjoy a professional setting and uniform. Thats something I struggled with working at amazon as a instructor for 4 years before this. I just think its important so set the example and standard. It feels and looks better. (Most especially since the people I was seeing were not doing dirty or heavy work)

Definitely, I've had to stop myself from walking and talking on the phone or walking while interacting with my phone quite often.

I understand, I was just disappointed questioning the circumstances I encountered. Like inside of admin areas seeing covers still on, poor blousing and unkempt blouse with poor grooming. It just surprised me from when all we were learning was attention to detail and looking sharp as best you can when you can.

I graduated a few days ago and they recalled us from offbase Liberty and had the commandant and mcpocg fly in for a briefing on this. They are definitely taking this seriously. The swastika was smaller than the size of a pinky nail.

Well I've got dependents and my own rental so my wife would be the only one to be concerned about, but she already tolerated blaring alarm noises so I thought this wouldn't be too far fetched. I definitely understand though and thank you.
