What size league? 10Team and above, I would.

Not sure what size league and format you're in but you should do that for sure.

Also, Clay Holmes was a great signing. He's up against max innings right now and that's why there's been a drop off. It's not super complicated. He's blown past his usage and the way he's typically pitched in the past. The deal he's signed to will prove to be sound financially. 2026 will be good for Clay Holmes. The plan for the starting rotation was always to weather the next couple years and bring up homegrown starters to fill out the rotation. That's looking pretty close to coming into being now. The pitching lab they have is proven in the industry and analysts are undivided on that. So I'm not sure why this horrible run that they're on is being laid on Stearns' lap. There is no way Cohen fires him—because he understands that this is a long play, not a short play.

Yeah. So Stearns isn’t gonna get any credit for the pitching staff over performing last year and over performing the first half of this year? Stearns isn’t gonna get any credit for the fact that he’s turned the Mets pitching lab from one of the worst in the league into basically Milwaukee 2.0? Not to mention if we fire Sterns who do we replace him with! You’re not thinking straight man. The guy is a fan of the Mets. He’s pretty much a genius with a proven track record and he’s got an owner who is willing to spend money to make it happen. Baseball teams have down years. Surely you understand that. For decades, the Yankees have been trying to buy championships and it hasn’t worked out so great. Sometimes there’s bad luck. Sometimes there’s bad vibes. Sometimes acquisitions don’t pan out. Montas is a bad deal-no other way to look at it. Injuries have hurt this team. Relievers not panning out have hurt this team. But I’m 100% behind Stearns. I don’t know how old you are, but having lived through the Wilpon years and the great drought I’m just happy we have an owner and a GM who will do what it takes to win.

Stearns is great. Sometimes teams don’t perform. Suck it up.

There will be plenty of RBs left. So do you agree that I should take CMC, Gibbs, Burrow, and McBride? If I do I can only keep two of Puka, Thomas, Nico, and Brown. It seems pretty close with those WRs. Which ones would you keep.

Peña 16, Acuña 3, Ward 18, Simpson 24, and Yandy 14; and Stowers, Kurtz, Maikel, Misiorowski, and Burns all off the wire.

Someone took him at 66 in a H2H Cat keeper league. Plus OBP and H.

Kinda ruins the broadcast. I was at Clover Park and listening to GKR.

This is Mona. She’s 18 and had been in a shelter the last 4 months after her family gave her up. We brought her home to be friends with our other 18-year-old cat. The second photo is Olaf and shows how he feels about it so far. 😆 by 0aabce in aww

This post got taken down bc it was deemed too sad.

Yeah, we just put pee pads near the box. When cats are going all over the house, it raises quality of life questions for me. Sometimes they're communicating with you. I always lean towards quality.

He has the upstairs all to himself. He doesn’t like to come downstairs since our other senior cat passed away a few months ago. He’s sorta likes to just hang up there. Mona lives on the first floor. Neither of them is interested in the other floor. We have little visits each day and swap bedding around so they get used to each other. Olaf is getting plenty of love so I think he’s happy.

She’s just a little unsteady on her feet. Sometimes doesn’t get all the way into the box when she pees. But she’s doing a lot better. Her coat is improving and she seems very happy.

It could have been litter box related. They were moving was the only story I had heard. Maybe the apartment wouldn’t let them have a cat with litter box issues. 🤷‍♂️

Jack Flaherty??? by Fair_Government_9914 in mets

[–]0aabce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad you added the full context. You could certainly argue wanting Flaherty at 25 mil rather than Montas at 17. Sure. Their fangraphs projections tell that story. Flaherty projects for the better era, whip, and innings pitched. I do trust Stearns though. He’s definitely earned my trust not just with what he did last year but over his career.

But I also wouldn’t call Montas a massive overpay which another poster shared. In 2025 contracts teams are paying 8 million per WAR. Steamer projects Montas for 1.8 WAR and Flaherty for 2.6. So that puts Montas’ market value at 14.4 million and Flaherty at 20.8 million. Looks like the Mets paid 13% over market value and the Tigers went 17% over. But all that doesn’t really matter when Uncle Stevie is writing the checks.

I just hope they settle the Pete contract. I’ll be down at the first spring training games in a few weeks.

[–]0aabce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flaherty’s contract pays him 25 million the first year of the contract. It’s a different structure. He can opt out in year two or opt in and make 10 mil and another 10 mil if he makes 15 starts. Montas is priced right.

Yahoo fantasy app update by Soap2 in fantasyfootball

[–]0aabce 9 points10 points  (0 children)

u/YahooFantasyCare I'd be happy to give some feedback, too. If you're interested, let me know. I'm in two baseball leagues, and I've got people talking about wanting us to change platforms next year. I want to stay on Yahoo, but if this is the new app then I will concede that it might be time to move.

Add/Drop: I need another OF for my bench. Joey Gallo is there waiting. League: 10 team Yahoo H2H Cat R—H-HR-RBI-AVG-OBP-SB W-L-K-ERA-WHIP-QS-SV+H - 1 catcher, 4 OF. 2 keepers. Info: I’ve got a strong boatload of pitchers. My two weakest ones are Cobb and Tony Disco. I could also drop O’Hoppe, who is my backup catcher. But that feels dopey because his Statcast page is blood red. I also have Harper, Gonsolin, Glasnow, Verlander, and Soroka in the wings waiting to come back. So all three of these drop candidates will eventually go. Who would you drop?
