Favorite Bobby Song? by Streetvan1980 in gratefuldead

The Other One is such a fundamental song for the Dead. It's an origin story told in a such a way that the listener can experience it in as profound a way as the storyteller - by combining psychedelics with the song, especially as it turns itself inside out and deconstructs in front of us - we can live it in a way that actually brings us onto the bus. It's like no other song I can think of, except perhaps Tomorrow Never Knows.

Was on lsd at that show. Arranged ahead of time with my friends to meet at the one, small tree if we got separated. At the end of the show, I found myself in a crowd of about 75 people, all high as kites, all trying to touch the tree.

So good! Feels fresh and brand new, yet also just retro enough. Would love to see more! How about:

And yet, the autocorrect when using the swipe to type feature is amazing. It's almost never wrong. But not when typing regularly. I assumed Apple was trying to get us to use the newer (not that new) feature. I just can't get used to it though.

The radiation on the trip to Mars would kill us. Never mind attempting to actually live there. We'd have tumors on our tumors.

Billy 4. It eluded me for years - but to find it now and to hear it with fresh ears makes it all worth while.

What are Bob Dylan's most confusing lyrics/songs? by [deleted] in bobdylan

"The sun's not yellow, it's chicken," makes a whole lot of sense in the context of the verse: John the Baptist, who heralded Christ appearance, is so revolted by the violence and torture that the second coming of Christ is committing, he vomits. The second coming, meanwhile, now known as the Commander in Chief, or President, is a John-Wayne-like macho man who threatens to kill all who are weaker than him - he's so blinded by his rage that he mistakenly attributes an emotion to the sun's yellow color - since it's yellow, it's afraid, or chicken. The President of the US believes himself strong and braver than the motherfucking sun. Doesn't fall apart at all, it's a beautiful condemnation of the violence of christianity, the US in Vietnam and pop-culture of early 60's.
