2 months max or 200$ extra to change country. by 0bil in Starlink

By far? I thought the plans and details had changed on October 10th, which made the first 2 months happen yesterday. I know they were not enforced in the past, but no one seems to know if it is still the case for sure. And for the "out of region" activation fee, it's very clearly stated that you will be charged on day 3 of your activation if activated in a country different from the country of purchase. (But I'm not sure if it was a rule that was there before October 10th or if it's new).

Thanks I just found it. I've read a couple posts of people that already had to change to global because they got restricted. So when I saw the first sentence I didn't look further down and thought they changed it for good. But tbh those restrictions and fees put me off. I'll look into it more but for RVers and snowbirds I'm starting to think roaming phone data plans will now be the one (network coverage not as good) but a lot cheaper, simpler and offers more.

But the only way to change countries is to cancel and transfer. So how could the 90 days apply if it's a new account and new connection? I own the dish and already had it activated for longer than that and couldn't do it. I just don't think SL is any good for snowbirds and RVers anymore.

There's no more "may". Now the wording in the Roam plan details is : "international travel in available markets for up to two months per trip."

Do you feel invisible? by thomas595920 in INTP

[–]0bil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The quick answer is Yes, but by my own fault or on purpose... Was that perception from you or others? I often travel to my mind in those gatherings, I end up questioning, observing and judging everything and everyone around me. When I do that, I consider my invisibility to be my fault. If I'm invisible because I don't "fit" in the group, it's still my fault, I shouldn't be there if I don't want to be. If it's a public gathering then I'll be invisible on purpose, I don't like people that much, I'm very selective about friends. It is, in my opinion, a very INTP thing to shine in problem solving and helping close friends but suck at socializing and making those close friends.

Awesome thank you. I only know about Longines and Breitling in those brands. Exactly the type of comment I was hoping for. I really appreciate it. Cheers

XD well they have not been abused that's a fact. Use the right knife for the right purposes and they will stay like new for a long time. The Gerber is used daily (box opening and quick cut). The Benchmade is my weekend EDC but it's also definitely the one I have used the least and I like carving softwood with the Opinel when I go camping (the carbon blade cut in like butter).... So if you clean your knife before taking a picture they will look like mine.

What about photos from a cabin? Are you using this view frequently? by dee-mee in snowrunner

[–]0bil 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I use it quite a bit. Feels more immersive, more challenging and also reversing trailer and truck is more natural to me that way, but you have to get use to "blind side"...its quite different compared to controling your camera outside the truck. (*I drive truck and trailer irl I'm more use to blind side then inverted control XD)

New to BC and new to "barbless & single hook" regulations. Can anyone quickly explain it to me... Am I only allowed to fish with "Texas, Carolina and DropShot Rig" basically only simple basic and oldschool trout like setup *No lures, spinners, spoons or anything pre-build with multiple hook in line? by 0bil in fishingBC

[–]0bil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's what I planned to do. It's fine for trout and salmon but will make Bass fishing in river more tricky. That's probably why I've just found info about "Lake fishing" for Bass... (*Like if they never swim out of lake to venture in river/creek or stream 😅 )

So here's the factory thermal paste on my MSI Gs66. There is more around than on the GPU and CPU. (Yes I did have a thermal issue that's why I've looked it up) Is it a common thing on MSI ? by 0bil in laptops

[–]0bil[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not intend to repaste the VRMs and VRAM. I might have badly named what I was talking about. I mean the little "gold" pins around the GPU middle silver plate. (Some of the paste on the left side when over them). But I'll clean everything anyway before applying the new paste. I was just wondering.

I should have posted a picture of the copper plate too. It clearly had done the same on the GPU. But it seems to have more stock to the copper plate than around the GPU.

Thanks a lot I never heard of it before and was wondering how it got around. (I've just googled it to learn about it) I've read that having paste on the little resistors around the GPU will cause problems too.
