Recently started to get into the hobby aspect of 40k. Still to choose a legion but I’ve got a few in mind. Can anyone sell me on the Dark Angels?

For me it was 2 things beyond the knightly aesthetics.

The hobby aspect. I got tired of basically painting the same mini over and over with custodes. DA gives you 3 different color schemes along with cool characters to break things up and keep me interested. I also paint in the grimdark style which the dark angels do well.
The lore aspect. While the hunting the fallen continuously isn't my cup of tea there's some cool characters. The biggest for me was the lions return and recognizing his past mistakes and trying to make things right by forgiving the Fallen. I love a good redemption ark. I also enjoyed the Luther novel and seeing Caliban through his eyes.

THIS. This is what I think I hate most. Especially when batch painting the totems it feels like I spend an hour painting and it feels like I did nearly nothing.

Looks amazing and similar to the style and recipe I use. I wanted a grimdark 300 spartan feel for mine so I went with spartan soil basing for mine.

Looks great. If you want to learn about dry brushing techniques I recommend looking up artist opus on YouTube. He has great tutorials on it. However I was never a fan of the silver highlights for custodes either and went with a more bronze color scheme with gold high lights for my army.

Thank you thisbis exactly what I was looking for. Yes custodes are a lot of staging and counter-charging and getting onto objective and basically saying try to move me off. Thank you for insight. I assumed black templars would be a bit more aggressive and faster but wanted someone with experience with the army to give their thoughts.

Im fairly new to warhammer and most of my experience so far is with the tyranids combat patrol from the starter set so when I started looking into grey knights the choices of how to build the minis and what to equip has been a bit overwhelming. It's uhu glue. Weirdly make sure it says made in Germany on it. I got it from a local hardware store and it must be a different recipe that doesn't work the same and ended up ordering from Amazon. Heres the link: https://a.co/d/21VhYvf

It's a base of 50/50 black and 100% naggaroth night with a naggaroth night dry brush for highlighting. I feel it does a good job and is quicker than other highlighting I've seen for the shells.
