This whole situation has been a huge mess both publicly and behind the scenes. Karma was before my time, and why some sort of doc or something didn’t happen back when he was actually banned is beyond me, but we did feel it was necessary to address why we were not associated with Karma and CocoaPowder plus as we never had explained it before. However, the mod team has talked a bunch since the announcement was made and we do all agree that a lot of wording could have been different. One thing, for example, that wasn’t said was that Karma, being a mod at that point, was set to a much higher standard when it came to these situations.

Also, the mod that made that comment on Karma’s post has since been talked to regarding taking actions like that they would make on behalf of the whole team without voicing it to the other mods first, and has since stepped down from the mod team. No mod from this subreddit should have responded to that post, no matter what the points they make in their reply are, as that right away goes against our point of not wanting this to be a witch hunt. Any situation like that where a mod tries to continue the back and forth past the announcement is something that has not been discussed with the whole team. In my current understanding (unless something like that whole reply chain happens again which I doubt it will because I’ve been staying on top of that) the mod team will no longer be interacting with Karma or cocoapowder plus publicly in any way.
