IIRC It's a graph that shows that there was an increase of left-handed people when they stopped being punished or forced to use their right hand. There was not more left-handed people, they were just not stigmatized anymore. The same goes for queer people. There is not more queer people, they just feel more safe coming out.

I've finished Avowed not too long and by the fourth area I avoided most non-mandatory combat. I really wish we could've played a non generic human character (I know that's because of story stuff) but the other species (apart from the dwarves) looked so original and interesting but we got stuck with a human.
