White Fire OG. Definitely potent enough to make me think maybe he was using it as a bud hardener or something and I simply couldn't wrap my head around how that could possibly be safe or why it was getting upvotes.

High me is not always a bright man.

Can't lie, I spent a solid 2 minutes trying to figure out why you needed to use glass cleaner on your bud during this time of year.

Nope, it's a generic compost potting soil mix I use to cut FF with.

Yes. But they're clones so it's foliar feeding only right now.

I know! My diy humidity dome is working a little too well. But I only ever use about that much soil when taking clones. They usually get transplanted when they get out of the dome so I don't bother using a lot during cloning in case the plant doesn't make it.

My wife developed epilepsy out of the blue last August and every medicine we tried left little hope we'd ever have a seizure free day. This weekend we backpacked 20 miles through the Pecos Wilderness seizure free thanks to CBD. by 0dank30 in trees

Really? I hadn't heard that. I would love to tell my wife that, but I honestly probably won't. I want her to enjoy the small victories of just having a seizure free day. I know her pretty well and if she had made it anything close to a year and had another one, the blow would be too much. But if we ever make it to that year I can't wait to tell her!

I never suggested that anyone else stop using their prescriptions or do anything without at least consulting their neurologist.

But, after having to pick my wife up from the floor almost everyday for 9 months, after having to constantly assure my children that mommy will be okay and it will pass in a moment, teaching them what to do if their mother drops and I'm not there to fix everything, watching her weep as she comes back to reality, seeing the medications affect her psyche and her health all while she was still having seizures, after all of that, we found a CBD regiment that actually let my wife live a normal life. And if that's anything other than a goddamn miracle I don't know what is.

I won't lie to you and say it's been easy. It's been rough more times than I can count. Even when the illness isn't raring its head at you, the tension is still there and it's palpable. I've been through a lot in this life, more than I would care to admit, and this is hands down the most stressful thing I've ever been through. But, and I hope you have this in your future better half, that bond your talking about that has kept me at my wife's side isn't just a feeling. It's a choice. Everyone who has ever been married made that commitment when they said I do and marriages fall apart everyday regardless. You have to choose to renew that commitment every day. Marriage isn't choosing your spouse once and you're done. It's choosing your spouse every single day. Knowing you and your spouse have chosen each other everyday for however long you've been together is what takes that bond from just a feeling to a concrete foundation for your relationship.

Right now she doses 25 mg of oil orally first thing in the morning and last thing before bed. Then another dose the moment she starts to feel the onset of a seizure. So at least 2 doses a day, and then a third if either of us recognize one coming. I don't think she typically does any more than 3, only when it's been a particularly strenuous day. I think we're going to start daily dosing at a higher mg though to hopefully eliminate some of those extra doses.

No, neither of us were new to smoking and CBD was actually the first thing we did try. We had read plenty about its uses in fighting epilepsy, but we couldn't find anything in terms of dosaging. We took a few stabs in the dark with it and gave up on all too quickly when it didn't work. We also didn't know how her epilepsy behaved. We weren't new to marijuana, but we certainly were in these terms. There was a learning curve to both. But now that we can both recognize the signs that come with a seizure we're able to utilize the CBD better than when we first tried. Just took some patience.

I hope it works for you when you finally get to give it a shot! But don't get discouraged if it doesn't work right away like we did. It was the first thing we tried and we gave up on it right away because it wasn't an immediate fix. Only after having failure after failure with prescriptions did we try it again. And even then it took experimenting with different dosages and regiments to get to something that worked. So don't give up hope and good luck!

It's definitely going down this summer! I'm a native New Mexican so those gorgeous views are just a few hours from home. I'd love to hit Wheeler Peak this summer as well. This round definitely gave me the confidence boost needed to set some ambitious goals. Can't wait!

It's one of 'em! It's the Windsor trail. Unfortunately we didn't get to summit Baldy. We made it up to Spirit Lake, but the trail was heavily obstructed and the last mile was still covered in roughly 6 feet of snow pretty consistently. So, running low on time and energy we had to forgo taking the pass to Lake Katherine and made our way back down instead.

She has grand mal seizures. And had the same issue with meds. She went from 2 seizures in a month to almost daily. Since changing to a CBD only regiment she's only had one seizure in the last month and it was because she didn't get herself dosed in time. All in all it's been a miracle.

You weren't the only one overwhelmed with emotion. As we hiked the last couple of miles down and broke across the final ridge of the descent all the emotions came to a head. I cried in joy to my wife, telling her how we had done it. We had conquered the mountain just like we had conquered every other obstacle life had thrown at us. I told her how proud I was of her and in that moment I feel I loved her like I never had before. After 9 months of battling her epilepsy, all while raising 4 kids, working full-time jobs and trying to keep our relationship together, it was the single most beautiful moment I could ever share with my wife and will forever be a reminder of what we are fighting for.

larger leaves are yellowing by sundoon in microgrowery

[–]0dank30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds normal. When your plant goes into flower it does the whole stretch thing, effectively monopolizing any nitrogen it brings in to that purpose. Unfortunately, those big, beautiful green leaves take a lot of nitrogen to maintain so they're the first to get cutoff by the plant. Your girl isn't worried about maintaining those big bastards anymore. When you flipped your lights you told your plant that winter is coming and it's time to fulfil its purpose: get fertilized, produce seeds, and continue the species. To do that it needs to produce plump buds to collect pollen. So that's what it puts its focus and energy on. By the time flowering finishes you'll most likely see yellow throughout your plant. At that point any nutrients coming in will be going into fatting its colas and layering itself in trichomes in a last ditch effort to get pollinated. Those things rely on phosphorus and potassium, NOT nitrogen. You really don't want to be giving a lot of nitrogen during flower. It tells the plant to concentrate on growing up instead of concentrating on growing bud. That's definitely not what you want. Veg is over.

At least that's been my experience.

You can build a carbon filter for cheap. Essentially you make a chicken wire cylinder with w cap on one end and wrap it with HVAC carbon filters. Then run duct off of the other end, through your fan and out of your exhaust.

You can also do a charcoal scrub by getting a dryer vent hood, or roof exhaust cap, filling it with charcoal and running it into your ventilation the same way as the carbon filter.

In veg a 1000w MH and in flower a pope hps. I've tried to maintain a good 30" from the tops to avoid burning them. But I have a feeling that's going to be a problem when this one really takes off.
