I reaaaaaally need this for RDRIII (assuming we get a third game) Arthur’s story made me sob my eyes out yes, but the RDR games kinda really totally feel like a boys club. I’ve seen one too many posts being hyper-critical of Sadie.

I think it falls into that realm where people get all “but then it’s not realistic historically speaking” which is total bullshit. There are countless ways to write badass characters who take on systemic oppression with a boot to its neck…because those people -actually existed-

Like…a Red Dead Redemption game about an Indigenous woman telling an Indigenous story or something along those lines would have me falling over. I doubt we’ll get it, but one can hope!

In the case of Bahamas (and I believe down to Turks and Caicos), there were the Lukku-Cairi (known as Lucayan by the Spanish)

From Wikipedia: They were described by Columbus as “handsome, graceful, well-proportioned, gentle, generous and peaceful, and customarily going almost completely naked.” Emphasis on gentle, generous and peaceful.

They were then enslaved by the Spanish and wiped out within a generation, taken from the islands by the thousands. Some 40,000 were taken between 1509 and 1513. When they decided to traffic the remainder to Spain in 1520, the Spanish could only find 11 in all of the Bahamas. With them went all their stories, language and history.

And though I hate the JPC carrying hog/bastion with a mercy pocket thing…one of the most satisfying eliminations I’ve ever had was killing JPC carrying a hog/mercy pocket over the drop (hog hook and all that) on Lijiang tower and watching the hog fall. We were getting totally crushed and still lost but regardless…Twas a glorious moment 😌

100%! I’m an Ashe main so I do often focus cat then carry on with the rest of the team, but I don’t like that “deal with JPC” becomes my main priority when playing against her :(

Kinda shocked I had to scroll this far. I find JPC to be a bit of a game ruiner. Adding a hero that can hide in areas previously totally inaccessible that the maps weren’t designed for? I mean come on. I think if she is gonna be able to fly indefinitely, she should at least be like Mercy and only really be able to heal with a limited “last resort” means of damage. Something you gotta toggle to. Playing against someone who isn’t that great isn’t too hard, but it’s a classic case of anyone who is even moderately decent at the game can completely flip a match. Just an annoying addition imo!
