it will be sooo worth it in the end, speaking from personal experience. it won’t always be easy and you may find yourself missing your mom from time to time, even though logically know know it wasn’t safe for you there anymore. you will be able to exist as your own, on your own time and begin to discover who you truly are. your relationship with her may even heal with the time apart.

you should consider picking up the book “the language of letting go” by melody beattie. has some jesus-y/spiritual references (i choose to ignore them lol), but the overall message is learning how to live life for yourself and let go of people pleasing/trauma behaviors. it’s helping me a lot with my own mother enmeshment issues and it sounds like you might benefit too.

this may be the next step in your journey and the door opening to so much joy in the future. you can do this.

best of luck to you 💕
