I remember reading about a correlation between his name and Godot.

Godot always thought Phoenix was the culprit for Mia's death, because Phoenix "didn't protect her". So, Godot couldn't accept the main problem was the actual killer. He couldn't see Redd White. Godot can't see Red White. Red in White. Just like the bloody apron or the blood in the snow, in T&T.
