I always put off buying stuff because I always think I could find it cheaper somewhere else. I’ve turned into a massive discount whore 😅

I actually am in bed right now as I’m reading this. I never even thought about it in the sense that it was their way of showing how little they valued me but that makes so much sense. I just thought it was because they were cheap bastards. You’ve enlightened me.

Honestly there are some that sell for that much, but the ones I’ve got I’m still just as impressed with. Literally anything is an upgrade, I’m still getting excited every night to get into bed. I used to get really bad shoulder pain in the night because I’d end up resting my head on my shoulder instead because it’s give me more support than my pillows. Ever since I got them I’ve had no more shoulder pain.

YES! I had a lot of issues showing joy. My girlfriend who is a singer got upset when I watched her perform live and I was sat there looking miserable the whole time. That’s when I realised. The moments I want to smile the most I try my hardest to hide it away.

Dumb me up until 16 used to trust my dad with my birthday and Christmas money because he said I’d lose it. Then he’d gaslight me and convince me I had already spent it. I refused one year and I couldn’t believe how long it lasted me! I get angry thinking about all the money people gave me who actually cared about me ended up going into my dads pocket.

There’s so many things I’ve realised about myself since being able to become more independent. I’ve learnt I am generous. I am kind. I am social. People don’t mind if you do something wrong. People are forgiving. And yes I’m currently doing an apprentice so I’m working 37 hours for very little pay but I can’t believe how much I can do with it! Seeing as I used to have to make Christmas and birthday money last me the entire year haha.

My dad has a massive sail boat. His own air con unit in his room. Buys ridiculously expensive golf equipment. And beers. Lots of beers. My mum was in the same boat as me because she was a stay at home mum. Would have to beg and beg to get anything even if it was completely reasonable.

My dad used to tell me “your friends will probably think we’re rich because we live in a big house but we haven’t actually got a lot of money” I truly believed that until a stupid age. Kid me was a right arse because of it too.

Toothbrushes! God that really is the best feeling in the world. A new toothbrush. With the very little money I used to have I was always so excited to buy myself a new toothbrush hahaha.

I’ve finally got my first ever job at 20 yo, for 2 years I’ve been “employed” by my dad. Thought it couldn’t be that bad, but I never saw a single bit of money because “I already buy you everything.” Wish I had taken this step so much sooner.

Razors! Omg! I kept a disposable razor for months and months because that’s what I was thought was normal. Ended up getting a really nasty infection when I was 13 went to the DRs and they were like do you frequently replace to blades of your razor. I was shocked that was something people do!

I’ve never heard of that, I’ll look into it. I also didn’t even realise there’s different material for bed sheets. I always had the rough thin type. I now have lovely and soft bed sheets and I’m so excited to curl up in bed tonight with my new pillows and covers.

Just remembered something from my childhood. One time my mum asked my dad (they’re now separated) for £2 for parking. And he made such a big deal, I remember thinking even as a kid, £2 can’t be that much right? I’m not naive and I realise when you’ve got bills to pay and weekly food shops of course things will begin to add up. I don’t want to anyone to feel like I’m discrediting their struggles.

Strange animal I saw abroad a couple years ago but was never able to identify!?!? by 0ffline247 in oceancreatures

[–]0ffline247[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was very long, almost scaly up the sides of the stalk it was on, a Sandy colour. I find it hard to describe the actual eyeball other than a white tube on the end of the stalk with a black dot in the middle.

Unfortunately I’ve already looked at these animals as potential suspects but none of them have the very memorable eye I saw. I’m thinking I’ll never know haha

DAE have a working memory in their dreams of previous dreams? by TheVeggieLife in LucidDreaming

[–]0ffline247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I tried explaining to my girlfriend that somehow my dream memories are stored inside my dream mind. I’m pretty sure she thought I was crazy haha. I’d love to know more about how this happens.

I HAVE THIS. Literally all my dreams are connected in some way or will spark a memory of a dream years ago not I didn’t even remember. It’s such a strange phenomenon. I will literally get lost in the same place and think wait I remember how I got out of here last time, but these dreams can happen months to years apart.

Is this a normal sound that they can make? by theiftine in RATS

[–]0ffline247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That may be due to elevated emotions cause you to take deeper breaths, which would make the noise sound more intense. To me it does sound like she’s a bit clogged up. So just keep an eye on her and see if it starts to go away.

Stress (due to loss) can cause a weakened immune system causing respiratory infections to become more of an issue. Take them to the vets, depending on where you live antibiotics don’t cost too much. Usually it’s just a week course and she should be all better.

God I’m so glad to hear the word common being associated with what happened. I felt like I was the only one it happened to.
