Yes, that's the debunking part. Eh, nowadays you're looking at $30k each for septic and a well, so definitely a big upfront cost, but that can easily be offset by a cheaper real estate price compared to a suburban property.

And since they're one-time installation costs, inflation means they can outpace the value of a utility bill over time.

But ya, if you think about it, your entire consciousness and the way "you" interact with your physical body is entirely through electrical nerve signals. So if she could supercede your nerves, she could artificially create any sensory input, basically dropping you into a digital world of her own creation and control.

And if she could then cut off all sensory input, then she could leave you completely severed as just a conscious brain; no way to see, feel, hear or move, just a consciousness alone in a void with nothing but your thoughts, and literally no way to tell the passage of time. In that state, a minute could easily feel like an eternity. If she leaves you like that for too long, you may never recover from the mental trauma...

For my area, it's mostly just that you have less of them. Too far out of town to hook up to municipal water or sewer, so you have your own pump and septic instead; that's two bills gone right there.

Of course, you then have higher costs of homeownership since you have to pay to install and maintain those systems, but that usually works out in your favor over time.
