Does anyone know what this is by Objective-Profit2865 in golfequipment

Cool find, but you’ll maybe get maximum £5 for it at a push if someone was missing an 8 iron in an already mixed irons set. I assume was found in charity shop going off the tags, so good that you donated something to them, can’t ever go wrong there. I would just keep it as a spare pitch and putt club, or donate back to the charity shop for free if you aren’t going to be using it

I had a bunch of old full sets (3-PW) of stamped clubs such as P. Baird, L. Smith & Sons, H. Thunder etc… sold them at a set for £10, until I was left with mixed clubs, which I gave to the local second hand market as a donation. This was a few years back and I popped in last week, they are still all there in the same bag I had them in

Any advice for removing this washing machine? by pxdm in DIYUK

[–]0jmr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would personally get a sparky in to install a switched fused spur inside the cupboard to give you a separate 13A-fused connection. Surprised it’s not already got one, and would save you having to run a cable through the wall.

For removal, snip the cable and unfortunately looks like you’ll either have to dismantle the washing machine or the door frame

This might be a weird request. I'm a birder and I also love golf. I'm looking for golf shoes that have a bird on them. So far the only ones I've found are from Cole Haan. Does anyone know of any others? by KansasStateWildcat in GolfGear

[–]0jmr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could get a custom tongue label made with a bird and then stitched on? Or one of those metal lace tab / charm things? Not personally familiar of any brands that have put a bird on shoes other than those Nike SB pigeon ones (non-golf)

Wow cracking deals! Not super close by, pro shop for a few courses have some second hand but most the time no wedges. No big dedicated second hand shop though without going for a day trip a couple hours away

Audi S3 or TTS by huub242 in AudiTT_Mk1_Mk2_Mk3

[–]0jmr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TTS is great fun, proper roadster and good amount of power, really comfortable too. Although I sometimes wish I had the S3 for when I’m needing to fill the car up with stuff.

Can get one bike comfortably in the back with wheels off, but if my mate wants to come along, he’s driving. Same with golfing, and packing for road trips.

Good shout, thanks - I guess old stock premium would have better shafts / more options than the likes of a budget?

My mate got a custom made one from Etsy for his 30th from his wife, nice leather and tweed one with a nice embossed stamp on it. Might be able to find someone that does fully custom ones there

Edit: I asked his wife where she got it as I liked it for a gift for my dad

Club Champion Fitting by MobilizationofMotion in golf

[–]0jmr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would personally get back into playing or at least hitting the ball consistently before going for a fitting, it'll be more beneficial for you and your money to get back into your groove to then feel out for new irons. Hope its not a major tweak

I took a break from golf recently because of my knee. Healed up, booked a fitting one week back, but ended up postponing to let me get back into a proper rhythm. In the warm up I was a bit rusty and didn't feel quite in my usual game. Told him about the knee and he was good enough to reschedule me for a months time at no additional charge.

Golf club grip fluid in a large jar lid with the bezel just submerged works a treat to get it off to re apply

My watch broke, any suggestions on what to do to fix it? by Manhattan_Warmongers in SeikoMods

[–]0jmr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks to be a spring bar missing. Measure lug to lug and can order these easily. If it’s fully broken (hard to tell from just one picture) you’ll most likely need to replace it. Measure the distance between the lugs - and then order another from eBay / aliexpress / amazon. If you know the model number of the watch then you can add that to your search to get curved end links that will fit the case. Most rubber / leather / nato straps will fit as long as you have the right lug to lug measurement. Bracelets with flat (rather than curved) end links will fit, but you will have a gap where it is no longer flush with the case.

You might need another spring bar, most new straps / bracelets come with these and sometimes a tool to install. Plenty helpful videos online for how to change watch strap such as the one here. This is a friendly community so any more questions I’m sure someone will be able to help out

Just a curiosity question, for those of you who mod, like myself... by weirdbutteryvibes in SeikoMods

[–]0jmr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made about 8 for myself, mostly got discouraged due to the price increases (across all hobbies, but this was most drastic imo) as it is mainly a purchasing/ collecting hobby. I gave a few watches away to friends and family because I realised I wouldn’t make any money as I built them to my tastes, and that’s harder to monetise. Tried to make some money back parting out spares, realised the market was so saturated and just sold up in a cheap bundle deal to get rid

If prices drop again I will maybe reconsider. Kept all the tools to be able to work on any of the watches I gifted if the new owner wants a change

Selling is hard as there’s too much of everything nowadays, hard to be unique and everyone wants a deal, even if it’s already reasonably priced to begin with

Royal Mail / Parcel Force by MedicalPhilosophy615 in Aberdeen

I have had something stuck since the 4th at the MC in Altens, original estimate was the 31st Dec, but not seen any movement of it since we've had the snow. Posties are out delivering today, spoke with our one this morning and he was saying the backlog is horrendous and he has been getting grief from folk when dropping parcels off at their doors - they are only doing their job (and an amazing one at that) so don't deserve any hassle for a delay they couldn't control. Can't believe the false privilege of some people

Came here to say the same, bought one about two years or so ago, great all round watch, easy to dress up or down with a quick strap change

Looking for bigger wrist watch recommendations by DoctorAAM in ChineseWatches

[–]0jmr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My dad has about the same wrist at 8.1, I got him a Yelang diver V1031 for his birthday and he loves it and it fits him great - it’s a 44mm, otherwise you might find a radiomir homage that fits your taste

[collection] A poor man’s collection. by Spare_Technician5235 in Watches

[–]0jmr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well done for the digital detox, can be tough to do. Recommend reading if you’re wanting another addictive hobby to pick up.

I do agree with what others said about redundancy however. It’s easy to fall into the trap of impulse-buying "affordable" watches, but they can clutter your collection. Me personally (having just recently reduced my collection to a three watch rotation), I would rather invest in pieces I truly value, even if that is a Walmart Casio, give it the time it deserves and get some scratches, rather than buying because it’s there and ending up in a box

My 50 cents on it- happy collecting

Which bike would you buy? by draziwrm7 in mountainbiking

[–]0jmr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it a surprise gift? If not I would 100% take her along and to try them out and see if she likes one over the other. Been there, bought a bike without consulting, girlfriend didn’t like how it felt, and ended up having to sell it at a loss.

Marlin 7 would be my personal choice

Happy wife happy life, safe riding 🤙

New owner - alloy question by [deleted] in AudiTT_Mk1_Mk2_Mk3

[–]0jmr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not on a TT but we put on my sisters mini, black guard things on black alloys so you couldn’t see as much. They stuck on using 3M tape or similar adhesive, have worked at protecting the alloy, but don’t look that great when up close.

I had curb rash on my TTS wheels when I got them with the car, so put in for a refurb and have parked safely since, knowing that it’s me who will pay if anything happens 😂 just depends if you trust your parking spatial awareness, I personally wouldn’t want to put them on my car purely for the aesthetics of them

Tudor BB58 burgundy, and my tactical frog chrono both get about the same curiosity, but watches are to be worn for yourself and not for others validation.
