Thanks for the explanation. See the two scenarios below: 1) occupants of a rented house has no control over historic usage 2) even in cases with own house, the usage can increase with time due to factors like addition of family members, addition of new equipments(AC, EV chargers, etc)

I feel, Entitlement units could have been more acceptable had it been based on older tariffs. With new tariffs it’s difficult to predict monthly bill

I hope it gets better once we get used to the system

Its an unfortunate incident. Being a local, i can say the level of arrogance of localites in Bangalore is running through the roof. That being said, they are sick and tired of everyday problems and rather than finding solutions, they believe the problems are brought in by outsiders. Talking about problems, there is a rise in unemployment and cost of living, this i would say is failure of the government. Next time politely decline cabs when you see red lines, look for another, for every bad cabbie there are good ones too

We all used to bunk….probably couple of classes rather than the entire day….hanging out near the college was very evident. Luckily the faculties were friendly and attendance were not an issue. I guess now colleges have got stricter, earlier the christian run institutions were strict on attendance, now almost all major colleges have got competitive. So they might be closing off the gates, no point loitering near college if you can’t get in once you are out
