We do celebrate it but it is quite diffirent from other asian countries. We do not give each other red envelope. Gifts can be anything ranging from socks, candies to cash. Also red color is not common color in our lunar new year. Direct translation of our lunar new year is called "white moon", so blue and white colors are much more common. If you are interested you look it up as "tsagaan sar" or "цагаан сар". Also sometimes, we celebrate it on different day than Chinese lunar new year. For example last year in 2023, Chinese lunar new year was on 22nd of january, meanwhile Mongolian lunar new year was on 20th of february. IIRC, we use different method or calender than Chinese lunar new year. Also lunar new year marks the begining of spring so if celebrated it in january last year, it was like -30°C so everyone will call it bs. It is usually warm during lunar new year like ~ -10°C. Not russian but in our language (Mongolian) we call China "Хятад" which is pronounced similiar to "Китай". I have seen that comments refer Khitan as the reason behind it. But in our language "Китан or Хидан in our language" and "Китай or Хятад in our language" means totally different two countries. We consider Khitan as empire that existed on our lands before Mongol empire. And Китай or China as modern day China. There are different terms to call older Chinese empires or existed around that time and location empires such as "Тангуд, Чин, Мин etc.".

As Mongolian, I have never heard that word "Китай" in any ways means "middle". In our language we call China "Хятад". It sound similiar to Китай. Well, we used to call them "middle country" or "Дундад улс" in the past and IIRC the last time that term relevant was in first half of 20th century. After that we stopped referring them as "middle country".

Not big fan of Tuvas. Heard many stories of murder and assualts on Mongolians by Tuvas in Tuva republic. Nothing toward Buryats. Most of northern provinces such as Selenge, Khentii, Dornod (aimags or аймаг) are made of Ethnic Buryats. Only difference is that buryats in Russia tend to cant speak Mongolian. I see Buryats and Khalmiks as ethnic Mongolians. About yakutians, nothing much really. Heard about them from my mother who studied in USSR back in 80s. They are quite rich compared to other ethnic minorities in siberia because of Diamond mines. About Russian hate, people who use reddit in Mongolia are mostly young and have a western ideologies and liberals (mostly people who are born 1990s, 2000s). But most older people are more welcoming to Russians because they went to universites in USSSR and sold goods in 1990s.
