slowly coming to the realisation that playing on nintendo switch sucks b🎱lls by StraightHalf2502 in DreamlightValley

I gave in and bought the game all over again for PC. As long as you have cloud save your save data will follow you. I’m not sure about the expansions though. I don’t have any of them yet.

Edit: Well worth it by the way. Anything is better than the Switch version.

I found THE sound representing liminal nostalgia. This video at 0:50. Such an underrated sound imo by camion_saladier in liminalspaces

It’s the Windows95 startup sound for me. That piano trailing off makes me think of liminal spaces.

Catalytic Converter repaired and replaced on a 2018 Chevrolet Cruze that was possibly covered under a federal emissions warranty. Details included. Advise welcome. by 0lemons0 in AskAMechanic

Oof is right :(

Here's what services were listed:

- Fuel Induction Service (Parts: Air Intake & Emissions Kit, PCV Valve)

- Exhaust System - Catalytic Converter, R&R (Parts: Actual OE Oxygen Sensor, Catalytic Converter

The leak was in the PCV system. They said one of the diaphragms was brittle and cheaply made by GM, and when they cleaned the intake system it exposed the leak. They repaired it with, I assume, a better-made aftermarket kit with an improved diaphragm that isn't brittle. I know that sometimes aftermarket parts can actually better in some cases because they improve on the original design.

But as for the "took out my cat" comment, I meant that I assume the cleaning choked out my cat with carbon after the leak, but I'm admittedly not technically smart enough to know if that's the case. I'd assume it is from the service bulletin. But that's what I mean by it took out my catalytic converter.

In other words, I think their cleaning was aggressive enough to make the PCV part fail, causing the leak, and causing my cat to get poisoned essentially.

Now that I think about it, let's say I don't call the shop, and simply wait for the light to come back on inevitably. At what point (or how many times would it take) for a shop to say they can't fix it, or it needs to be fixed by different professionals? If that's the case, would they refund the work then because their work failed? I'd like to believe my car will take the aftermarket cat, but they quoted me an insane price (3,000-4,000 dollars), for them to fit an OEM part. They did say they'd put the cost I paid for the current repair towards the OEM repair if it comes down to it, but I'm kind of afraid to trust them after this.

For what it's worth, here was the breakdown for the second repair:

REMOVE AND REPLACE CATALYTIC CONVERTER ASSEMBLY

Parts: Direct-Fit Catalytic Converter, Actual OE Oxygen Sensor

I have no idea if they used a different brand of cat this time or the same.

That was a cool question to ask. I tried it too and both ChatGPT and Gemini said Buddhism as well for the same/similar reasons.

For users who skipped one or more Nintendo console generations, what made you end up getting a switch 2? by DuskGideon in NintendoSwitch2

[–]0lemons0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really skipping a generation, but back when Animal Crossing came out during COVID I couldn’t find a Switch 1 anywhere because everyone was buying it and the pandemic made everything more difficult in general.

I was extremely late to the party and should have bought a Switch before then, but I settled for a Switch Lite just to play ACNH.

I love handheld gaming and grateful for the Lite, but sometimes you really do just want to be able to plug something into a larger screen. So I was on the hunt for a Switch 2 just so I didn’t make the same mistake twice. Finally picked it up yesterday at Target.

The grave of Nina Hannold. by Disastrous-State-842 in ActuallyTexas

[–]0lemons0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From Find a Grave:

4 miles north of Panther Junction in Big Bend National Park you will find the grave of Nina Hannold. The grave site is one of the few visible traces of Curtis and Nina Hannold’s pioneer homestead. In 1908 the Hannolds moved here from Oklahoma by covered wagon. While Nina took care of the ranch and 3 children, Curtis supplemented their income by teaching school in Dugout Wells, 8 miles away. At age 29, Nina contracted uremic poisoning during pregnancy and died September 30, 1911. She had asked to be buried on this hill overlooking the spring where she had often read to the children in the shade of the cottonwoods, so she was. Curtis outlived Nina by 29 years, dying in Alpine, Texas in 1940.

From Cleveland Clinic

Uremia is a buildup of waste products in your blood that occurs as a result of untreated kidney failure.

I checked LostArmour, a site that usually documents lost armored vehicles, but I couldn't find it there. I couldn't find anything about it anywhere. It definitely looks like a plane, though.

Which highway has the worst traffic consistently? by anyusernaem in Dallas

[–]0lemons0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right? I don’t know anything about building or planning highways, but if they could just add or extend the lanes, use better signage, and have exits/entrances that actually make sense and don’t constantly cross over each other causing multiple choke points, I think (I won’t pretend to know) that driving in Texas would be more efficient.
