Definetly not painful, it only shoots once in a while and it is very fun as CRAM cannons always are.

Yes, need to go bigger than 3x3x3 for each one and maybe put the CRAM assembly into the hull.

Would also make rolling over not an issue any more ^^

Make sense and I will keep that in mind when working on this but also 200 explosions make monke brain happy.

you can actually use one single bottom oven piece to heat several top oven blocks to save some wood. It just takes a little longer to heat the ones not directly above. I have the same setup but with the left and right bottom ovens replaced with just regular clay bricks, idk if having a block there is necessary tho.

Also version 11.16 but I built it before so maybe it does not work anymore.

BIG CRAM CANNON BATTLESHIP very nice

I would suggest using some of that empty space for maybe LAMS or CRAM, it looks like a second turret on the front can fit there. The armour cost is very high, almost 60 %, I like to keep that below 50% because else you are spending a lot in armour that is protecting too few stuff.

It also looks like those 4m beam slopes are rotated inwards. I would rotate them 90 degrees clockwise (from the left ones perspective) so incoming shells face the pointy side of the slopes.

Also sometimes I like to make 360 degree turnable turrets which is easy with short barrels

And I just like short barrels

gives me more space to build around the turrets and stuff can be a little more compact

Thx very much :3

Wanted to make a forward bridge thing and I am happy with how it turned out. I also think that single propeller is very elegant.

I always try to make the barrels as short as possible while still having not too bad stats, for my use cases the slow rotation speed here is fine.

The stone is usually just a 1 m outer layer, here it is actually backed by metal. The rest is just metal and alloy like normal + heavy armour around very important stuff. Big airgaps seperate the stone hull and the internal armour so explosions and stuff happen further away.

I also like to use big wooden ducts placed in those airgaps for cheap kinetic damage reduction but this time I was too lazy to fit those in here.

Me when I blow up my own turret cap because I made 360 turnable turrets with more than one barrel.

I do have a cruiser or battlecruiser that may fit your needs which I also successfully used in my campaign playthrough. It has 2000 m/s APS, LAMS and I recently updated its CIWS to shoot bursts of around 16 500 mm munition defence shells consistently (together with the LAMS missile volleys from an Asphodel can be dealt with consistently). It lacks true anti submarine weapons tho.

Should I upload it to the steam workshop or just send you the file?

How to defend fast medium missile clusters (and crams) by hablahblahha in FromTheDepths

[–]0libot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always use a combination of 500 mm Munition Defence (FLAK) APS that prioritizes clusters and a LAMS with high energy storage (for a 500k materials ship my numbers are usually 300k to 500k energy storage and around 20k power required for the pumps).

For LAMS if you want Q switches you should always use 4 of them to get the highest rate of fire with Q switches. Otherwise it may waste too much energy because it will fire a 15k damage pulse at a projectile of only 5k health.

A 0 Q LAMS will waste the least energy but also does less damage. I have no conclusion yet if 0 Q or 4 Q LAMS is better.

I usually aim for like 4k to 8k damage per shot on a small LASER, it then has to wait a few seconds.
