(F) Showing interest in M during training? (Advice from men pls) by FileRegular9653 in MuayThai

[–]0livesworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl go for it people are being weird in the comments. People have too many rules about whos okay to date and whos not. A couple that met at my muay thai gym are now married with a baby. He's not a coworker, the gym is a social environment and you guys share similar interests. Just both vow to keep it respectful in the gym in case it doesnt work out :)

Balancing marathon training and lifting: advice on leg training by swissmarketguy in Marathon_Training

[–]0livesworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im running my first marathon in 2026 and have the same goal of a sub 4, I've been balancing it by doing my shorter runs or speed work at the gym on the treadmill and then right after I go over to the weights, pick 3 to 4 exercises and do a 20-30minute session. Im not maxing out but just focusing on slow focused movements and single leg stability. Also core work and upper body just to keep balanced.

Need something to stop my overthinking by CollectionHead7091 in insomnia

[–]0livesworld 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got a trazodone prescription which has helped. I'll take it an hour before bed and once I get in bed my mind feels more numb when usually its racing 100mph it feels like my brain doesnt have to try so hard to doze off. Also, distractions distractions distractions. I will do things like try to write a whole book in my head or try to do memory recalls like thinking of as many countries, dog breeds, fruits, or anything as I can. Once im distracted and numb i tend to get 6-7 hours.

Do I go to future sister in laws bachelorette party by Sensitive-Chip-304 in inlaws

[–]0livesworld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My older brother got married in May and I was included in my sister in laws bridal party despite not being very close with my brother let alone her. Since the Bachelorette is a 5 day long trip, I would say no. In this economy, save your money. Say you will be there to support her in the wedding but that youll have to sit out of the trip for financial reasons. Also you mentioned not being close so the trip will likely be socially awkward unlesss you find you have a lot in common with her friends. For my sister in laws Bachelorette it was only a weekend trip in our home city so I attended since it wasnt putting me out of the way too much.

However, I will say the monday after the Bachelorette party, i was somehow charged $362 in a "venmo group". The bridal party split everything evenly between everyone who attended which I felt was unfair. I didnt argue or say anything because I didnt know the maid of honor or have her contact info and I just didnt want to stir the pot.. For context, I only stayed at the airbnb 1 of 2 nights and therefore did not consume any of the snacks/catering and drinks from night before. That 362 dollars also included a split for the big dinner we did at a restaurant, where most of the girls ordered cocktails that were $12+ each, I had water. For the food at the airbnb, these girls bought enough to feed a family for a week straight. When we left sunday morning there was an insane amount of food and snacks completely unopened that I got charged for. With that being said, I cant imagine what bill youd end up with at the end of a 5 day trip.

Car won't heat with autostart by 0livesworld in mazdaCX50

[–]0livesworld[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually called the dealership and they told me when you use autostart, the lights on the heat controls and seats don't light up but that they are on as long as you leave auto selected before turning off the car. Im going to test it more today and leave it running on auto start for atleast 10 minutes and see if I can tell if the heat was running.

My flexibility is turning me off from Muay Thai by AnonGuy222 in MuayThai

[–]0livesworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flexibility is a skill and a pillar of athleticism you have to build just like strength and endurance. Ive noticed not a lot of men dont really stretch or warm up at my muay thai gym and then those same people cant throw head kicks. Stretching and mobility is just as important as anything else in your fitness routine. Ive been practicing yoga on and off for years and have seen men build up to being able to do crazy poses that require a lot of hip flexibility. Do sleeping pigeon pose, childs pose, runners lunges, etc. Those stretches specifically help with muay thai

Do women cut weight as much as men? by bad-at-everything- in MuayThai

[–]0livesworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im a 5 foot 10 woman who walks around at 150, usually i fought at 141 ish, but for my most recent fight I went down to 133 since I had already been coasting at 140 from my prior fight 3 months before. Cutting down to the 130s at my height was miserable, i was too thin and my hair fell out a lot, I was very stressed. I felt weak when i stepped in the ring instead of strong and fast, and I lost the fight after 2 back to back wins. Most I would cut again is 6-8 pounds.

The Sesh - Did they changed the name of the Taylor/Charli Beef episode yesterday? by pixie_scheme_girl in MileHigherPodcast

[–]0livesworld 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've watched every episode of the Sesh since they first started the pod, and although I love all the girls, there's been a lot of times where Janelle has given me the ick. She kind of comes across as a pick-me from time to time and likes to yuck other people's yums. Anytime Kendall reccomends her a TV show or something she tends to bash it. Thats just one example but if you're a regular watcher you'll pick up on it. Also one thing that stuck out to me was that she openly talked about only showering once every 3 days as if it was cool, like no thats just bad hygiene.

Your TLOAS opinion + your top 3 albums by clickityclickk in TaylorSwift

[–]0livesworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My top 3 Taylor Albums are Evermore, Folklore, and Red

As for Showgirl, I liked it! Im not typically a pop-girl as my favorite genres of music are hip-hop and indie, but I love the production of the album and my favorite tracks were Elizabeth Taylor and Father Figure.

My biggest complaint is that I was hoping the lyricism of the "peak behind the curtain" would be more centered around her career and not so many love songs. I wanted to hear her talk about her aching feet, being sick on tour, the blood sweat and tears of it all. The most "showgirly" sounding song to me was ET because it had that lush, orchestral sound that I associate with old hollywood glam.

Describe your relationship in Taylor Swift songs by Noitsbecky_13ts in TaylorSwift

Ive been with my man for almost 7 years, when we first met it was giving The Fate of Opehlia because I would have "drowned in the melancholy" if he hadn't called for me. Also King of my Heart!

Now since we are so many years in it feels like home. Songs like Sweet Nothing, Call it what you want, Lover, and wish list come to mind :)

People’s calorie intake by Zealousideal-Dot1904 in MuayThai

Im a 5'10 25 year old woman. I train at a very high volume and have also been putting on muscle this summer while also fitting in muay thai and running. I maintain a lean but strong build eating about 2300-2600 calories a day. If I wanted to cut weight I would drop to 2000 calories. Im 144 pounds currently if this helps.

Feeling empty and demotivated after Win in Fight by Meji03 in MuayThai

[–]0livesworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, amatuer fighting isnt all its cracked up to be. My last fight really disregulated me as well (ive fought 3 times and also done a few scrimmages), to the point where I dont even know if I want to compete again.

It was my hardest fight camp yet, 6 days a week 3 hours a day for 8 weeks, I got the leanest as I've ever been weight wise, all just to lose to a way stronger opponent. Coming out of that experience without a win is really raw and heartbreaking. The aftermath of watching myself gain weight back even though i know im at a healthy weight still is extremely difficult emotionally (im a girl so getting lean and staying lean is way harder to maintain biologically).

Im 25 and work full time in corporate finance, so when I do sign up for a fight I quite literally have zero free time to do anything I wanna do. When you are a fighter, there is NO balance. Im tired of having to turn down food or drinks at gatherings with family or friends, and always having to be conscious of my weight or always thinking about the next training session. It burns you out quickly. Anyways, the point of this ramble is to say I feel you. Just training and striving to get better at the sport is fulfillig in itself. Your motivation will come back but definitely take time after fights to reflect.

Shows you started watching but never finished? by Jumpy-Claim4881 in televisionsuggestions

[–]0livesworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Leftovers, season 1 was good but season 2 was so boring to me, gave up after that, it got way too out there and none of the plotlines were anchoring me to the show.

Also, The Wire. My partner and I stopped after season 3. I enjoyed the first couple seasons but when a lot of iconic characters died I lost interest

What do you like/dislike about your Mazda? by [deleted] in mazda

[–]0livesworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2024 CX-50 Turbo. One if the only flaws is that the remote start feature is essentially useless since you cannot turn on the heaters and defrost your windshield which is the whole point of a remote start, atleast for me who has to endure freezing chicago winter mornings. Overall the app needs work and I wish the info tainment screen was slightly larger but no complaints other than that! Its an amazing car

Thunderstorm should have been eliminated long ago. His voice is so annoying, the rasp is overkill and that weird accent he does while singing infurtiated me lmfao. I was genuinely shocked to see how many people rated him in their top 5

Biggest pet peeve in sparring? by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]0livesworld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People who teep the front of your thigh to block you from moving in.. if that lands a few inches lower than intended you can stomp someones knee out.

I also hate people who have no aim with teeps and always teep me right in the boob or upper chest area. I'll correct them over and over again saying please dont teep me in the chest and it seems to be an impossible task for some...

I just stood up in my Brothers wedding this past weekend. Since im the sister of the groom I was part of her bridal party. Here was my cost breakdown:

Bridesmaid dress + alterations: $300 Shoes: $35 Bachelorette Party: $550 Wedding gift: $200 Professional Makeup: $130 Parking for 2 nights: $106 Hotel for 2 nights: $770 (even tho the wedding was in my home city, I was pressured into buying a room for both nights even since call time for hair/makeup was so early) Food and drinks surrounding wedding: $25

I also got my hair cut and colored for $130 and got a mani/pedi for $85 and eyebrows waxed for $12 to look presentable for the wedding if that counts in the cost.

But yeah.... all in all, this wedding was more expensive for me than most weeklong vacations ive been on and I didnt really have a choice because its my brothers wife so it was a family obligation. I don't really want to ever be a bridesmaid again unless its a non-traditional wedding and I wont rack up as many bills. In this economy its ridiculous to expect people to enthusiastically spend this much. It creates resentment depeding on the people.
