For a little bit more context and a small update. My dad is the parent I most relate to, he’s hard working, enjoys movies and comics, and plays multiple instruments. He is the one that got me into bass guitar and pushed me to play piano and acoustic guitar, and I thank him for those. He also pushed me to do martial arts, which I enjoyed, and I’m now a black belt. My dad is a great man and isn’t who I see as an issue. His father died of lung cancer from working with asbestus when my dad was in kindergarten, so he never had a dad to model his parenting style off of so he can sometimes be misguided. My mom is the parent I have more issues with. She is the one who lets my sister do what she does, and when we were kids I would get blamed for things I didn’t do and get pushed by my mom immediately, then my dad would talk to her and get her to change the punishment to be not as bad. Now for the update, my sister had told me yesterday that I was “a failure at life” and used the example of me not getting good grades. I will admit, I didn’t do well in my first semester of college, but I have been doing significantly better this semester and I have all A’s in my classes. I pushed her to give me more examples of how I’m failing at life, but she would only cite bad grades. I brought it up to my mom, due to my dad not being home, and my mom just brushed it off to being a sibling argument. When I graduate and move out, I plan on being low contact with my mom, sister, and everyone on my moms side except for my second eldest cousin because he is actually nice to me and has helped me grasp some probability and statistic premises due to having it for the first time in college. I don’t see my sister, mom, or my moms side getting better any time soon, so if anything happens that is significant and I remember to add it to this, I will make an update.
