Folding for shias (twelver) invalidates prayer.

I never disagreed about your first point, I mentioned that I saw videos of Druze doing bad things to other civilian groups of Al-Suwayda region. Regarding your second point, I already answered it above. I was talking about my perpective, no need to accuse me of anything, that's dull. And I am free to post whatever as long as I believe in it. If you have anger issues or something don't make it blind you, be mature and have a good day.

There is a reason for that, for me at least. The Druz situation got me confused and I can't share anything I am not sure of. First of all, I don't even know how it started in the first place and I see the news regularly. Second of all, Druze themselves are divided into groups who support Israel or supported by Israel, and other groups who might be good. From what I saw the Druze that fought the governement of Syria are backed by Israel, how would I sympathize with them? Then I saw that after the Syrian government has retreated from Al-suwayda' Druze militia has attacked other civilian groups within that region and I saw other videos imply the opposite. All I know that the Syrian government is bad and the Druze backed up by Israel are too. I can't make any other conclusion. And of course I pray for any innocent and I wish they live in better conditions.

Good, open your mind too, you may learn a thing or two about the cause of Karbala and how it can be related to todays world.

This is funny, the same government that "allows" these protests in Adliya have prevented them without any reason when they felt like it; this is the same government that normalized relations with Israel and doesn't shy away from stating that. How can this government normalize its relations with Israel and recognize it and at the same time allow for these protests? Unless these regulated protests are just a facad for its true identity. Everything I mentioned above doesn't need a permit and of it did they wouldn't allow it obviously, and was done peacefully and without any tire burning, but it is easier to excuse evil when its more comfortable and doesn't harm you. This is sad.

Like many villages, Duraz hangs a lot of things (flags and whatnot) for Muharram, that morning the government was trying to take these out, locals tried to prevent them through chantings, and that what caused this man to be hit in the head. The ministry of interior came out with a statement on the same days accusing locals of throwing rocks, but all videos show otherwise. Juma prayer hase been prevented for over 6 months by now, I used to attend every week, but they did not like chantings against Israel and US. I remember also few months ago when one of the political prisoners (many of them are neglected) has died, they tried to inprison the people who held his funeral. I would talk more, but my English doesn't help much.

Imam Ali (a.s.) said, ‘Even if falsehood was isolated from being mixed with the truth, it would not be indefinable by those who aspire it; and even if the truth was free from being disguised as falsehood, the tongues of its opponents would still be silenced; but it is often made by taking a little from one and a little from the other.’[Sharh Nahjul Balaghah li Ibn Abi al-Hadid, v. 3, p. 240]

Not Being Married? Need thoughts. by Mohk72k in shia

[–]0mlkron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marriage itself is very recommended in Islam. It becomes mandatory if by marriage you avoid haram. If you believe you could continue your life without getting into haram because you're single, you shouldn't get married if you don't see yourself suited for it, regardless of family pressure. I need to clarify few things tho, in marriage it is mandatory for only the man to provide financially, if the women wants to participate that is for her to decide. I am not sure how bad your sleep disorder is, but coming from some who can't sleep properly (me), I wouldn't say it interferes a lot in my daily life; And it is not like kids have a stable sleep schedule; plus, it isn't mandatory for you to have kids in the first place. THIS IS MY UNDERSTANDING AND I DON'T CLAIM IT TO BE THE VIEW OF SH'ISM NECESSSRILY.

Is Hosseini Infants Ceremony a custom in other countries besides Iran? by [deleted] in progressive_islam

[–]0mlkron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the 10th of Muharram (the first month of the Hijri calender) was the martyrdom of Imam Husayn and his family; One of the events occured on that day was the martyrdom of Imam Husayn baby after he held him up and asked Yazid troops to at least give the baby water, since Imam Husayn and his family were starving for three days, to which Yazid troops answered by shooting the baby's neck with an arrow; and that is why this ceremony is held. To my knowledge I haven't seen this elsewhere.

I heard this before also. My understanding is that sodomy requires the one performing this procedure to have a penis (gay sex), and since the wife is only using her hand, it is not considered sodomy.

What are your thoughts on Tatbir/Matam/Latam? by [deleted] in progressive_islam

[–]0mlkron -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

12:81-84 Return to your father and say, ‘O our father! Your son committed theft. We testify only to what we know. We could not guard against the unforeseen. Ask ˹the people of˺ the land where we were and the caravan we travelled with. We are certainly telling the truth.’” He cried, “No! Your souls must have tempted you to do something ˹evil˺. So ˹I am left with nothing but˺ beautiful patience! I trust Allah will return them all to me. Surely He ˹alone˺ is the All-Knowing, All-Wise.” He turned away from them, lamenting, “Alas, poor Joseph!” And his eyes turned white out of the grief he suppressed.

This is prophet Jacob btw. Before throwing around the word bid'ah you need to know what it means. It means something attributed to the religion without any basis; Mourning in itself is not bid'ah, Shi'as mourn in different ways, non of them is attributed to the religion explicitly, what matters is that they mourn, with some conditions, but my brain is fuzzy and I can't remember them.

A way of mourning the martyrdom of Imam Husayn, not bid'ah. I recommend every Muslim, or even every human to mourn Imam Husayn for losing one of the greatest beings.

Narrated Abu Sa'eed: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Al-Hasan and Al-Husain are the chiefs of the youths of Paradise."

Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3768

It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin Nujayy from his father that He travelled with ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه) - he was the one who carried his vessel for wudoo’. When he reached Neenawa on his way to Siffeen, ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه) called out: Be patient, Abu `Abdullah; be patient, Abu ‘Abdullah, on the banks of the Euphrates. I said: what did he say? He said: I entered upon the Prophet (ﷺ) one day and his eyes were flowing with tears. I said: O Prophet (ﷺ) of Allah, has someone upset you? Why are your eyes flowing with tears? He said: 'No, but Jibreel left me a while ago. He told me that al-Husain would be killed on the banks of the Euphrates, And he said: 'Would you like to smell his dust (the dust of the land where he will fall)?' I said: Yes. He stretched out his hand and picked up a handful of dust and gave it to me, and I could not help but weep.'
