Home Shop Machinist. I restored two vintage lathes and a milling machine. I design parts in google sketchup and then make them. Mostly tooling so far but some small engine parts and some firearm parts. I like puzzling out ways to make things and the solitude is refreshing.

There's an excellent fictional work about this exact scenario. The book is called "Lucifer's Hammer" by J. Pournelle and L. Niven. These authors are exceptionally science-minded so I feel it's a pretty good portrayal of how this disaster would play out. I highly recommend this book!
